As Memorial Day Weekend begins, I want to take a moment personally, as Ray Combs, and on behalf of Mach Mortgage, to honor every man and woman who gave their life serving this country.
This weekend is not just about time off, cookouts, beaches, boats, travel, or family gatherings.
It is about remembering the brave Americans who gave everything so the rest of us could live free.
For me, being American is deeply personal.
My family has been in America for over 400 years. My pride in this country runs through deep roots. We did not just migrate here. My family helped establish communities, build lives, and contribute to this nation from Virginia to Kentucky, Wyoming, Colorado, California, Idaho, Washington, and many other places across this country.
The Combs name is well established in American history, and with that comes gratitude, responsibility, and respect for those who sacrificed so future generations could continue building, living, worshiping, working, and raising families in freedom.
Memorial Day reminds me that America was not built by comfort.
It was built by sacrifice.
It was protected by courage.
It was carried forward by families who endured loss, hardship, war, grief, and uncertainty so others could have a better future.
Some heroes never made it home.
Some families never got the reunion they prayed for.
Some children grew up without a mother or father.
Some spouses lived with an empty chair at the table.
Some parents buried the child they once held in their arms.
That is the human side of Memorial Day.
So yes, I want everyone to enjoy Memorial Day Weekend.
Enjoy your family.
Enjoy your friends.
Enjoy the freedom we are blessed to have.
But while we enjoy it, let’s pause and be grateful together.
Let’s remember that behind every folded flag is a name, a family, a story, and a legacy.
To every fallen service member, may you rest in peace.
To every Gold Star family, may God comfort you and continue to honor your sacrifice.
To every family still carrying the pain of loss, please know your loved one is not forgotten.
Their name matters.
Their story matters.
Their sacrifice matters.
Their legacy matters.
From my family, from Mach Mortgage, and from my heart, we salute you.
We remember you.
We honor you.
May we never become so busy enjoying freedom that we forget the heroes who paid the ultimate price for it.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers across the world.
To the moms still here with us and to the beautiful souls now watching over us from Heaven… thank you. Thank you for the sacrifices nobody saw, the prayers nobody heard, the tears nobody knew about, and the unconditional love that carried families through life’s hardest moments.
Mothers are the heartbeat of every home. They are the late nights, early mornings, warm hugs, hard lessons, strength during storms, and the reason so many of us kept going when life got difficult.
Today is about gratitude, memories, love, and honoring every woman who stepped into the role of a mother, protector, mentor, grandmother, aunt, or caregiver.
If your mother is still here, cherish her.
If she’s in a better place, honor her memory today and every day.
