Coach Travis is excited for the opportunity to share his knowledge and passion for wrestling with Buffalo while continuing his commitment to Rogue. Wrestling has always been about building strong athletes, strong character, and strong communities, and he looks forward to helping athletes grow both on and off the mat.
Coach Travis remains fully dedicated to Rogue and is not going anywhere. Rogue has been, and will continue to be, an important part of his wrestling journey. His involvement with Buffalo is simply an opportunity to expand the impact of the sport he loves, while maintaining the same level of commitment, leadership, and support that Rogue athletes and families have come to expect. He is excited about what lies ahead and remains invested in the continued success and growth of the Rogue wrestling family and continued development of the Buffalo Girls Wrestling program.
Dallas County Schools would like to announce that we have hired Travis Bratten as our Head High School Girls Wrestling Coach for the 2026-2027 School Year.
Coach Bratten is originally from Iowa, and graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School in 2005. Growing up loving baseball and wrestling, he credits those sports to shaping the discipline and work ethic he has today. After high school, Bratten joined the Army to serve our country.
Travis has a Bachelors Degree in Construction Management from Missouri State University, and will be completing his Master's Degree in Special Education through Missouri State University this fall. He has been a special education teacher in the Springfield Public School District for the past three years. He is also continuing his professional development through USA Wrestling's National Coaches Education Program, and he currently holds USA Wrestling Silver Certification.
Travis is the founder and head coach of Rogue Warrior Wrestling, where he has spent the last 15 years developing athletes from youth through high school, including state and national level competitors. Over his coaching career he has helped develop multiple youth state champions and placers, USA Wrestling national champions and placers, Freestyle and Greco state champions, and Fargo National Qualifiers. I have also had several athletes continue their wrestling careers at the collegiate level.
"I’m excited for the opportunity to be part of the Buffalo wrestling program and help continue building a culture centered on discipline, accountability, and relentless effort. My goal is to help athletes grow not only as wrestlers, but as people. We don’t chase trends, we chase standards." - Coach Bratten.
Congratulations to Coach Travis Bratten!
