Summer travel means new pools, new places, and new water safety reminders. 🏖️
Whether you're heading to a hotel pool, spending at the beach, or visiting family with a backyard pool, a little preparation can help kids safer around the water.
A few quick reminders families often find helpful:
▫️Take a few minutes to look around and identify exits, lifeguards, and safety equipment
▫️Stay close and actively supervise, especially in unfamiliar water environments
▫️Use Coast Guard-approved life jackets when a personal flotation device is needed
▫️Talk with kids about pool rules before they jump in
Every pool or body of water is a little different, so building strong water safety habits helps kids stay prepared wherever summer takes them. ☀️
▫️Save this post for your next trip and share it with another parent who's planning summer travel▫️ 🌊

At Goldfish, our June monthly celebration is all about animals—and bringing that excitement into the curriculum to make learning even more fun and engaging. 🐾
From dogs doing a playful “paddle” to fish gliding through the water, animals and swimming go hand in hand. 🐟
Each month, we introduce a new celebration theme that helps keep lessons fresh, engaging, and effective. By connecting swim skills to familiar animal movements and adding a touch of imagination, we help swimmers stay focused while building real skills in the water.
You might hear about “sea otter back floats” or see swimmers practicing their “dolphin kicks.” Behind every animal-inspired activity is a purpose: helping kids improve technique, strengthen body control, and build confidence in the water.
At the heart of every lesson is progress, skill development, and water safety. We simply teach in a way that makes the learning process fun and memorable for kids. ⭐
🫧 What's your child's favorite animal right now?

Water Safety Tip 💙 Supervision isn't a breakable rule.
One of the most important things to know about drowning is that it's often silent and quick. It doesn't look like the splashing or shouting we see in movies.
That's why active supervision is one of the most important layers of water safety.
🚨 Many families use the "Water Watcher" approach, and it's one we highly recommend and encourage. This means one adult is designated to actively watch the water at all times, without distractions like phones, conversations, and multitasking.
It can be easy to think that having a lot of adults around means that at least someone is watching, but that's not always the case. Take the guessing out of it. When everyone knows who's watching the water, it helps keep kids safer and YOU and everyone else be 'in the moment' and having a blast. 😉

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor those who served and sacrificed for our country. 🇺🇸
Goldfish Swim School will be closed today in observance of the holiday. Thank you to all who have served, and we hope everyone enjoys a safe and meaningful day with loved ones.

Parents notice the little changes first. 💗
🌟 The smile after a lesson.
🌟 The excitement to jump in the pool.
🌟 The moment they realize they're doing something they couldn't do before.
🌟 The small moments are how confidence in the water starts to grow.
And honestly, we love watching it all from the sidelines 🧡

🗣️🌊 WATER SAFETY WEDNESDAY 🌊🗣️
One of the most important things families can understand is that drowning prevention works best when multiple layers of protection are in place. Think of it like a safety net — each layer plays an important role in helping keep children safer around water. 🤍
These layers include:
• Barriers and alarms
• Active supervision
• Water competency (swim lessons!)
• Life jackets
• Emergency preparedness
No single safety measure can do it all, but together, these layers help create a safer environment for families enjoying pools, lakes, and beaches.
At Goldfish Swim School, we’re proud to help families build one of those layers by teaching children essential water safety skills while helping them gain confidence in the water.
🧡 Save this post as a helpful reminder, and share it with your community to help spread awareness about water safety and drowning prevention!

Mental Health Awareness starts with helping kids feel confident, capable, and supported 💙
Active play and movement are powerful tools for supporting children’s mental well-being. Swimming helps kids release energy, stay engaged, overcome fears, and celebrate progress at their own pace — all in a positive and encouraging environment.
This month, we’re celebrating the importance of movement, learning, and confidence-building activities that help kids thrive both in and out of the water. 🌊✨

At Goldfish Swim School, water safety isn’t something we cover just once a year—it’s woven into every lesson we teach. 🧡
This month, we’re celebrating the skills, habits, and confidence that help kids stay safer in and around the water. From learning to float to practicing smart pool behaviors, every small step builds toward something meaningful.
Because when kids feel confident in the water, families feel that confidence too.
