I hope everybody had a GREAT thanksgiving 🦃🧡

Today was actually my first day working out again since thanksgiving and since I’ve been on vacation.

Let me just say it was ROUGH 😅

I just wanna remind everybody to enjoy life. Life is all about balance.

🚫 You do not need to starve yourself after thanksgiving because of all the food you ate.
🚫 You do not need to punish yourself for eating.
🚫 There are no such thing as “bad” foods and “good” foods. Awareness of what you eat is key over anything.

Just a little reminder, progress does not happen over night. It doesn’t even happen in weeks. It takes years sometimes to physically SEE a difference. You can feel the difference pretty soon but doesn’t always mean you will see immediate results. So don’t quit. Make this your lifestyle not just a momentary goal. ✅

As most of you know, I go to the gym pretty early every morning. And let me tell you I’m not an early bird 😅 (wish I was) so in order to get my day started and kickstart my workout I take preworkout.

I also never forget protein after a workout and have lately added collagen to my daily routine!

What I eat in a day ☀️

Now let me get something straight, I do not eat this EVERY day haha. Sometimes I’ll eat more, sometimes I’ll eat less. Sometimes I’ll eat worse, sometimes I’ll eat healthier. But what is important is that you fuel your body.

I want your take away from this post to realize that you CAN eat healthy and still eat tasty foods. Also, you still CAN eat what you really like and still be fit. It is all about balance. Maybe I will make another post about this? 🤔

Breakfast: Berry & Kale Protein bowl with my favorite granola (even my husband likes it and that says something! 😍)

Lunch: turkey sandwich with LOTS of veggies! I’ll add basically any veggies I can find in my fridge 🤪

Dinner: Zucchini noodles with turkey sausage and bell peppers (this is a fairly new recipe, but I LOVED it)

I recently took a much needed social media break since I had lots going on. Life happens am I right? But since then I have gained a lot of new followers and am so excited to start posting more fitness content! 💪🏻

Since there are new faces I’m gonna introduce myself since it’s been a while 😅

✨ My name is Amour Cook! I am 23 years old and live in Rexburg, ID
✨ I am married to the cutie in the picture 😍
✨ I am an ACE certified personal trainer and love helping people reach their goals.
✨ I am a full time nursing student and hope to one day work in either Labor and Delivery or Sports Medicine. 🩺
✨ I love healthy foods but I am a sucker for sweets 🍭 especially Crumbl cookies (my husband can testify this 😅, love you boo!)

Let’s talk… FUNCTIONALITY 👏🏻

A lot of times people only think people go to the gym to look better but the reality is it’s also to improve functionality! 🧗🏼‍♀️

Over the weekend my husband and mother recently went on a 12 mile hike. Hiking is one of my favorite things to but we would not have been able to finish if we did not work on functionality at the gym.

Let me dive into this a bit deeper…
🏋🏼‍♀️ By doing exercises such as weighted step ups, squats and lunges reaching some of the most difficult parts of the hike I felt prepared. Needless to say I wasn’t as sore as I thought I would be 😅

So next time you work out remind yourself it isn’t just for physique but it’s also to help you remain strong and agile when you are older 💪🏻

This past Saturday was my last HIIT workout in the park and it was SO much fun!

Huge thanks to everybody who has been coming out and having fun getting your body moving! I sadly did not get a pic with everybody but once I get back into town I might start these up again…

Whatever you like to do get up and get active! Meet new people! Support others and just have some fun!
