You noticed something was off before he’d ever admit it.

The jokes got a little too dark. The calls got a little less frequent. “I’m good, just tired,” said just a little too fast.

Most men won’t tell you when they’re struggling. Not because they don’t trust you. Because we were raised to handle it quietly and never make it anyone else’s problem.

I did this for years. The people who finally got through to me didn’t do it by asking “what’s wrong.” They did it by staying close and not going anywhere.

If you love a man who’s going quiet, here’s what actually helps:

Stop leading with the question. Just be present.

Say the one sentence that opens the door: “You don’t have to carry this alone.”

And know you can’t be his whole support system. He needs brotherhood too, other men who’ve carried what he’s carrying.

You’ve already done the hardest part. You noticed. 💛

And her last act before she passed, she insisted a friend take her out for early voting. She wasn’t going to miss her chance to speak her voice on something she cared about.

If we outlive our parents, we all face this. The pillars we built our whole lives on top of, suddenly gone. But there’s something on the other side of that grief too, an invitation to embrace what they taught us and carry it forward in how we live.

Feel the feels. Lean into the sadness. Let yourself be surprised by what’s on the other side.

I love you, Mom. I’ll never forget you, Anne Curtis. #

“I finally feel safe enough to share my 9/11 story and pain with other men.”

Twenty five years. That’s how long some of us have been carrying something we’ve never said out loud, not because we didn’t want to, but because we never had a room that felt safe enough to hold it.

That’s what Dojo is. Not therapy. Not a support group in the clinical sense. Just men, showing up for each other, making space for the things we’ve carried alone for far too long.

If you’ve got a story you’ve never told, we’ve got a room for it.

Tuesdays, 12 to 1pm ET.

After celebrating my mother this weekend, I was offered a lot of wisdom and advice about grief and how to move forward, but this one struck me.

We spend so much of our lives trying to avoid grief and uncomfortable feelings. What if that grief and those feelings were actually your greatest teachers?

And what if that grief is the reminder of how much love there was between you and the person you have lost. It’s our body’s way of processing and remembering.

Don’t avoid it. Lean into it. Let it out. And remember, while your grief is personal to you, it may not look like anyone else’s. And you never have to go through it alone.

Stats don’t lie. Keeping your sh*t inside is only hurting you brother.

The stigma is that if we talk about, it will hurt more or open the flood gates.

When the truth is that if you don’t talk about it, it will fester, grow and poison you from the inside out, until it’s “too late” or “doesn’t matter anymore.”

You f’n matter dude!

We need you.

We need your pain, your shadows, your darkness, your vulnerability, your fear, your courage, your wisdom, your heart. It’s all medicine.

You gotta feel to heal.

And when you do, you give other men permission to do the same.

Stay. Be here tomorrow.

If you or someone you know are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, please call the su***de hotline for support . DIAL 988. Stay.

“PLEASE READ: I want to make it clear, I am very much okay now. I am happy, healthy and have done the work, I’m simply sharing this to be a voice for others. Nonetheless this was extremely hard for me to share, especially on social media, but I’ve felt called to do so.

This is part of The Story I’m In, past and present. I made a commitment to tell my story in the hope that it reaches people.

In this case, I’m sharing it for Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

I want to be clear: I understand that the majority of sexual assault victims are women, committed by men and I am not taking away from or diminishing those stories. I am simply sharing my own.

If this story reaches even one man who has experienced something similar and helps him feel less alone, then it was worth sharing.”

Words of Power, Courage & Healing from Tristan Uechtritz
Thank you Tristan for being the change needed in the world.

Me too dude. Me too.

Great work grief, sweat, & tears 🙏

As seen in New York Post !!!!! 💀💪🏼💧

“It’s an exclusive club no one wants to be a member of.

That’s how several people explained why they were at a “Grief, Sweat, & Tears” event this spring, at which about 25 men and women met up for a double-header barre and spin class.

When everyone gathered in the lobby to chat afterward, sweaty and smiling, conversation flowed as naturally as it would at a bar — but death and grief were the main topics, with people trading stories about lost loved ones.” -
