Looking back at this time last year after the Thrive Summit 2025, it’s incredible to reflect on how far ITKAN has come!

Back at our old HQ, we were honored to host an inspiring group of leaders, including Humna Khan (ASTRO), Yusuf Omar (Seen TV), Ali Malik (HalalFest), Lena Alabbasi (Dai.vur.jnt), Raymond Soussa (Eternal Sparks Foundation), and Zubair Giyas (Clearoute/Clever Harvest). Alongside visionaries like Chris Blauvelt (LaunchGood), their visits affirmed our mission to make Muslim youth leaders in robotics and STEM while creating real career pathways for our students. Seeing 14-to-16-year-olds leave top executives speechless proved what happens when faith, purpose, and technology unite. Last weekend marked the conclusion of the ITKAN × Medrock × Meddots x FIRST Internship, a four-month engineering experience focused on applying technical knowledge to real-world product development.

Throughout the program, five teams of high school and college students were challenged to design and develop a fully automated powder-dosing system, taking their projects from initial concepts through prototyping, testing, and refinement.

Beyond the technical challenge, the internship provided students with valuable exposure to industry workflows, engineering design processes, automation, problem-solving, and product development. Participants gained firsthand insight into what it takes to transform an engineering concept into a functional product designed for real-world applications.

We are proud of the work, collaboration, and innovation demonstrated by every team throughout the program and grateful to everyone who contributed to making this experience possible.

Our FTC teams are coming together to brainstorm, prototype, and prepare for the upcoming season, while our FLL teams continue building, testing, and bringing their robots to life! 🚀

Opportunities Beyond Robotics - What ITKAN Makes Possible💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

ITKAN students are not just building robots they are pushing the tech frontier in Industry*💪🏻💫🏆😎

This summer they spent hundreds of hours combining their robotics experience, to automate precision powder compounding, tackling a real challenge faced by compounding pharmacies.
Engineers and pharmacists were genuinely impressed by what our high school students were able to design and build.

…And it didn’t stop with the summer internship, beyond the monetary prizes, students are offered opportunities for continued internships and part-time engineering roles with the MedDots team.

This is exactly the kind of opportunity ITKAN is working to create: real problems, real industry connections, and real pathways for our students to learn, grow, and excel.

Last year around this time, ITKAN was at ISNA 2025, and we had an incredible time showcasing our robotics program! ✨

Our booth was a huge hit, and we loved getting to share our passion for STEM with the ISNA community. Alongside our booth, we also organized an FLL camp where students had the opportunity to learn, build, and explore robotics together.

But the memories went far beyond robotics! Our students had an amazing time exploring Chicago, making new memories, and experiencing the city together. We also had the opportunity to tour the facilities at M&M Grinding and Pioneer Services, giving our students a firsthand look at engineering and technology beyond the classroom.

It was an unforgettable trip filled with learning, teamwork, and plenty of memories. We’re so grateful for everyone who helped make ISNA 2025 such a special experience for ITKAN! 💙
