# # # THE DREAM OUT SAGA: MOTA MEETS THE CARDS 🎯

The Dream Out knows no bounds when Metroplex Dart Association (MDA) players walk into the building. 😄

In strolls Larry Felder and Chad Edwards from the team Matadors of the Apocalypse (MOTA), which also happens to be Spanish slang for cannabis. 🌿 Very fitting because after these checkout attempts, we’re convinced somebody was rolling something before they walked in. 😭

“Let’s roll up this mota” quickly became “Let’s roll right into disappointment.”

Larry is up first.
Now, Larry is dressed nicely, but in that “middle-aged man trying to look casual for family photos at Chili’s” kind of way. 😆 You can tell he thought the outfit was sharp, too.

First number: 76
First dart: 18, Second dart: 18, Leaves double tops.
The cards are panicking. Larry is probably already spending imaginary winnings.

Third dart… ONE. 😭

The Black Dog card immediately yells:
“One! THAT’S the route you picked?!”

The Drinks card starts laughing:
“This man folded harder than patio furniture in a tornado.” 😆
Larry came in looking respectable and left emotionally sponsored by the number 1.

Next up, Chad.

Now Chad walks in with the energy of a man who absolutely should be sipping margaritas or mai-tais on a beach somewhere instead of panic-buying dart supplies before a tournament. 😄

Number: 82
First dart: 12
Second dart: TREBLE 15

Now, somehow, despite all this, the math still completely collapsed. 😭

At this point, both cards are just openly bullying them.

Black Dog card:
“MOTA apparently stands for Missing Outs Through Accuracy.”

Drinks card:
“These boys came in looking for cash and left donating to the youth.” 😆

All jokes aside — huge thanks to Larry and Chad for stepping up, supporting the DDA Youth Program, and bringing some MDA flavor into the shop. 👏

But fellas, if y’all plan on beating up Dallas dart players tonight, maybe start by beating a checkout first. 😆🎯

# # # THE DREAM OUT SAGA: SCOTT BORDEN AND THE CURSE OF THE 1 🎯

Busy busy busy… and somehow we almost forgot the unofficial primary sponsor of the DDA Youth Program…

Scott Borden. 😄

Scott strolled into the shop this past weekend dressed like he was either headed to game night or taking profile pictures for Tinder and Bumble. 😭

Black jeans. Texas sh*t-kickers. Flowing locks of hair. Glasses carefully positioned to make him look smarter than his dart average.

And the jersey? Some kind of pirate ship or vacation cruise liner with a sunset. Honestly, the whole outfit screamed:
“Middle-aged pirate looking for adventure and soft lighting.” ARGH. ☠️😆

First number: 125 Ouch.
First dart: 1
And just like that, the card immediately says:
“Scott is really out here hitting himself first.” 😭

Second number: 114
First dart: 20 Okay… respectable.
Second dart: 1
AGAIN. 😭

At this point, the board is starting to think Scott actually identifies with the 1 segment emotionally.

The Black Dog card says:
“This man sees himself every time he throws.” 😆

The Drinks card chimes in:
“Scott and the number 1 are officially in a committed relationship.”

Honestly, Scott’s relationship with the number 1 is becoming one of the great love stories in darts. He keeps finding it. It keeps ruining his life.

All jokes aside, Scott continues to support the DDA Youth Program more than almost anyone, and we appreciate him every single time he walks through the door. 👏

But Scott, at some point, we may need to stage an intervention between you and your spirit number. 😆🎯

# # # THE DREAM OUT SAGA: THE DAD WHO STOLE A GIFT CARD 🎯

Nicholas (Dad) and Jackson (16) walk into Black Dog for the very first time. Father and son are getting into darts together and want to join the DDA. 👏 Already wholesome enough to make the cards uncomfortable. 😄

Now Dad claims he’s “not that good.” Which is exactly the kind of thing people say right before completely ruining everyone’s day. 😭 Sporting black and white flats and throwing Target Japan Black Marque darts… despite not even having his own setup with him.

We tell him about the Dream Out, and he decides to step up anyway.

Then the auto-generator absolutely loses its freaking mind and spits out… 51!!! 😳

Immediately, both cards start screaming:
“PROTEST!”
“THIS IS RIGGED!”
“REGENERATE THE NUMBER!” 😭

Tam tries helping Nicholas with the math to throw him off.
First dart: 11
Only 40 left with TWO darts remaining.

The cards are panicking.
The board is nervous.
Jackson is watching his dad accidentally become a legend.

Second dart…
DOUBLE 20. 💥

JUST LIKE THAT.
A brand new winner is crowned. 🎯

The Black Dog card is furious.
The Drinks card is crying in the corner, talking about:
“We can’t keep letting dads do this!” 😭

Meanwhile, Nicholas is standing there pretending like he’s shocked after spending the last five minutes hustling everyone with the classic “I’m not very good” routine. 😆

All jokes aside — seeing a father and son come in together to learn the game and get involved with the DDA is exactly what this is all about.

Huge congratulations to Nicholas on becoming the newest Dream Out winner, and we hope to see both him and Jackson around the dart scene more often. 👏🎯

* $10 per attempt
* 100% goes to youth darts 🎯

# # # THE DREAM OUT SAGA: NICK & KRISTIN RETURN 🎯

Okay… It’s been a while, and I owe these two a proper roast. 😄
First off… Kristin’s jeans. Flower patches sewn all over them like she just escaped Woodstock in 1969. 🌼

Either:
* Mom taught her how to extend the life of jeans during hard times
* She got lost at a flea market
* Or the thrift store employee personally said, “These scream Kristin.” 😭

She’s rocking the Snake Bite jersey, grey casual shoes, and enough flower patches to qualify as landscaping. Meanwhile, Nick strolls in with the hat we’re now convinced is physically glued to his head.
Glasses on. Puma-style shoes. DDA jersey. Looking like a guy who says “trust the process” right before missing math. 😄

We ask who’s first. Nick immediately steps up.
First number: 85, first dart: 2
Second dart: TREBLE 17, third dart: 8 - NOPE!

The card immediately goes,
“Buddy… what exactly was the strategy there?” 😭

Nick then instantly throws Kristin under the bus and volunteers her next. Maybe he needed time to recover from whatever THAT was, or maybe the cards were bullying him.

Either way, it’s never quiet in the shop. 😆

Kristin steps up.
Number: 79, first dart: 3, second dart: 18
Third dart: TREBLE 12, which sounds impressive until you realize it absolutely did not matter. 😭

At this point, the cards are laughing so hard they can barely stay laminated.

Nick comes back for redemption.
Number: 106, first dart: 20, second dart: 18
And just like that, there’s absolutely nothing useful left.

The Black Dog card says,
“You two share a carpool and apparently the same checkout strategy.” 😄

The Drinks card chimes in:
“At least the flower patches hit more color than the darts.” 😭

All jokes aside, Nick and Kristin continue to come in, support the DDA Youth Program, and keep the shop entertaining every single visit. 👏

But next time…
bring less Woodstock…
and more checkout math. 😆🎯

* $10 per attempt
* 100% goes to youth darts 🎯

# # # THE DREAM OUT SAGA: JOHN CLARK FINALLY SHOWS UP 🎯

Well, well, well…

John Clark finally stopped hiding in the background and attempted the Dream Out during DDA Superdarts weekend. 😄

Up until now, we assumed he was:
- Smart enough to avoid becoming Facebook content
- Waiting for the cards to weaken
- Or just enjoying watching Scott Borden donate weekly

Rocking the Superdarts jersey like he meant serious business… John steps up.

First number: 92
First dart: TREBLE 20 💥

Both cards immediately panic.
Black Dog card:
“Oh no…”

Drinks card:
“Wait… is he actually good?!” 😭

Second dart: FAT 8
Third dart: FAT 12

And just like that, the cards relaxed and started laughing again. 😄

That checkout went from “historic moment” to “never mind, he’s one of us.”

Second number: 116
First dart: TREBLE 7
Second dart: 19
Now John would like everyone to know it was “VERY close” to treble 19.

Sadly, the dartboard doesn’t score based on emotional proximity. 😭

Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and apparently John Clark's explanations.

All jokes aside — thanks to John for stepping up and supporting the DDA Youth Program during Superdarts weekend. 👏

* $10 per attempt
* 100% goes to youth darts 🎯

# # # THE DREAM OUT SAGA: SCOTT BORDEN CHASES THE FOUR-PEAT 🎯

Scott Borden returns, attempting the impossible.

The only three-peat holder of both the Black Dog gift card AND the Drinks punch card.

The confidence? Still there.
The results? …debatable. 😄

First number: 122
First dart: 20
Second dart: 5
And just like that…

The Black Dog card says,
“Scott, you know this isn’t cricket, right?” 😭

Second number: 147
First dart: 19
Second dart: 19
Now, mathematically, that leaves absolutely nothing useful.

The Drinks card starts laughing and says,
“At this point, he’s just decorating the board.” 😆

Now let’s talk stats.

Season stats for Scott on Team DILLIGAF:
15 wins
12 losses
1 lonely 180
3466 QP

Which honestly feels like the dart equivalent of:
“Capable… but emotionally inconsistent.” 😄

Scott keeps showing up like a legendary gunslinger, only to throw numbers that make both cards question if he’s using the same math system as everyone else.

The board itself is exhausted at this point.

It sees Scott walk in and goes, “Oh great… here comes Professor Chaos with three different dart sets again.” 😭

And DILLIGAF? We finally figured out what it means:
“Damn, I Launch Like I’ve Got Absolutely Forgettable accuracy.”

All jokes aside — Scott continues to support the DDA Youth Program every single time he walks in, and that matters more than any finish ever could. 👏

But Scott, the four-peat may still happen, just maybe not before the Cards qualify for Social Security. 😆🎯

* $10 per attempt
* 100% goes to youth darts 🎯
