Getting really pumped up for upcoming launch of the New, Bright, and Shiny National Masters News website.
In the coming weeks I will be reaching out for beta testers; subscribers who are willing to be the early adopters and use the new site, kick the tires, get behind the wheel and even go off roading if that's your thing.
One quick feature improvement is that the new site will have FOUR years of back issues (24 issues) available for reading. (The current site only goes back one year (6 issues)
Stay tuned for more...

It's not often we get to personally see the impact we have had on others. This is why we started the "Legacy Matters" column in National Masters News. And while these articles, like the others, are typically written by a single author what is so cool about this article on Bob Cedrone, universally recognized as the God Father of the Ultra Pent , and 2024 winner of the Carol Finsrud Lifetime Achievement Award is that it was written by the Masters Throws community at large with quotes from his family and from throwers from across the country and the globe. The only downside is that we received more quotes than we could fit in the article. But to a person, everyone wanted Bob to know how he has, and continues to influence them in positive ways. Congratulations Bob, the recognition is much deserved and this was one of my favorite things to be part of with the magazine.

This is the kind of excitement athletes like Christina Elder and Odeika Giscombe show when they find out the 2025 World Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships are going to be hosted in Florida... OR ...when they recognize that their relay team, along with Christina Trucks and Ericka Charles, just broke a World Age Group record.
Regardless, Congratulations! It's the perfect photo for the Calendar page in the current issue of National Masters News!

I am loving the Olympic coverage. Great to see Canada win Gold in both the Men's and Women's Hammer.
But I find a little odd that hammer-wielding comedian Gallagher passes away in 2022, and a year later, Canadian Ethan Katzberg bursts onto the world hammer stage in 2023 to win the World Championships and now is the 2024 Olympic Champion?
Coincidence? Perhaps, or are there forces beyond explanation at work here?
Congratulations to the long hair happy hammer dudes!

My first USATF Masters National Championships, where at 63, I am now firmly station on the upper classman side of the 60-64 age group. It was great to spend some ring time with the boys, connect with ole UM teammate Larry Munski, throw season's best marks in both the Discus and Shot, land in at #2 Age Group World rankings, get a Gold in the Discus, Silver in the shot out and taker a nice step in preparation for the World Masters Championships coming up in Sweden and even collect a little Awards Swag at the Athletes dinner.

I never imagined I would be so interested in a racewalking event, but how can we not be amazed by Michelle Rohl who qualified for, and competes in, the USA 2024 Olympic Trials this Saturday morning. BTW: Michelle is 58 years young. Good luck Michelle!

Cathy Utzschneider Ed.D, is lead faculty member of coaching and performance at Boston College, author of four books. member of Team USA, and the founder of MOVE!, the goal-setting method based on doctoral research with over 100 national- and world-class athletes.
In her Move! series for National Masters News she explains how our our ability, and willingness to embrace change is key to performance goal achievement.
We "experienced in life" athletes know all too well how quickly things can change, so it was pretty cool to put the "Move! Self Assessment on Change" online at Move.MastersNews.com
I enourage you to check it out and see how you currently look at change.

Congratulations to Dave Wollman on his 2024 induction into the SMU Hall of Fame. And a BigThank You for taking the time to talk "throwing" with me recently. It was educating, entertaining and energizing all at the same time.
