Because I am extraordinarily prone to distraction and time wasting, I am going to be deactivating all of my social media accounts for a few weeks while I am busy preparing my new book, "The Right Kind of Boy", for publication.

If you need to contact me for any reason, feel free to do so at [email protected].

See you all soon.

“We don’t have time!”

“We’re too busy!”

Nah fam, Elon Musk doesn’t have time. He’s too busy.

Choosing to misuse your time by buying into ideologies shoved upon you by greedy charlatans chasing short cash, who don’t know the first thing about long term athletic development isn’t “being too busy.”

Busy is just the blanket you use to justify the allocation of time towards what you think is a valuable use of time.

The problem is, if you don’t know how to best allocate time into athlete development and rely on perceptions, your perceptions will lie to you, leading you to misuse the precious, non-renewable asset that is time.

Andddd that’s how we got here, lol.

That’s why competing in sport 13 months a year (and spending tens of thousands of dollars to do so) is the norm and spending adequate time preparing muscles, tissues, and ligaments for the (currently egregious) demands of sport is viewed as an afterthought.

There is an entire population of adults with fully developed frontal lobes, mortgages, & 401k’s who believe playing in 22 tournaments a year is “bEsT” for kids and that squats are unimportant because squats don’t look like lacrosse or baseball.

“Oh come on, they don’t really think that, this is just the way things are these days!”

How are they voting?

It doesn’t matter what you believe behind closed doors.

It matters what you vote for in public.

And if you’re subjecting your kids to all but inevitable overuse injuries from too much volume at the expense of preparing their bodies for the demands of the game, “what you know to be true” is insignificant.

As somebody who sells common sense fundamentals for a living to enhance the quality of life and sport for young people, I understand better than anybody that simple and common sense don’t sell well.

I am very fortunate to blessed with a significant base of families who “get it”, but they are outliers in a youth sporting world stealing dollars off the backs of our kids.

We have to much access to information to continue playing make believe that “the way things are is best”.

The entire system needs an overhaul, and it starts with responsible adults prioritizing (actual) athletic development. 01/23/2025
