A proper dynamic warm-up prepares your body for movement by increasing blood flow, activating key muscle groups, and improving mobility before the workout begins. Taking just a few minutes to warm up can reduce the risk of injury and help you move more efficiently, allowing you to get more out of every exercise. Think of it as the bridge between rest and performance.

2 simple strategies for improving cardiovascular fitness and training your body to burn fat.

You don’t need a one to two hours of uninterrupted time in order to move with purpose. “Exercise snacking” is the idea that small bouts of movement throughout the day can add up and be meaningful. A handful of bite size bouts of exercise might be better than trying to overload your plate and force it all down in one session.

You wouldn’t build a business without a plan.
Why try to build your fitness level without one?

A VO2 max assessment can provide a lot of very useful information — and can be used to develop a PERSONALIZED strategy so every training session has purpose.

Fear is an interpretation of a feeling, defined by perspective.

That same feeling, through a different lens, can be interpreted as excitement.

Don’t be afraid of what might happen tomorrow.
Get excited about what you can do with tomorrow.

is about preparing for whatever tomorrow has in store.

Some seasons can take the wind out of your sails. If you’re willing to stay in the fight, you can realize this:
the struggle didn’t change your direction—it clarified it.

If you want directions to destinations, even the best gps system cannot get you there without first knowing where you’re starting from. Progress starts with assessment of your current position.

Assess, program for improvement, reassess.
Cardiovascular fitness exists on a spectrum, and that spectrum represents your body’s ability to create energy at different exercise intensities. If you want to improve your cardiovascular fitness, you need to first determine where you are currently (with some sort of assessment, like a V02 Max assessment), then you need a game plan to make improvements, then finally you need to reassess to see if the plan was effective. If you cannot access a V02 Max assessment, a simple baseline assessment would be the Cooper 12-minute Test. There are a number of other ways that you can take a baseline assessment such as ski, row, bike, or other variation of an FTP assessment (focusing on wattage), or a timed distance-based performance test running, biking, etc. Regardless of how you decide to determine your baseline, the best way to improve is to figure out where you are, come up with a game plan for improvement, and then retest to see if the game plan worked.
