Submissions are live, unless they’re not! Max of led the Steadfast competition team through a CLA training session. The intention of the session was to explore the relationship between pinning and attacking the back. Watch the video to hear Max’s reason for not including submissions.

Somehow residency has been the best thing for my jiu jitsu. I’ve always loved anything involving fighting but this past year theres been a newfound appreciation for this sport that keeps me grounded, motivated, and makes me happy everyday. A big part of that has been my coaches and training partners , my teammates at Steadfast esp my SteadGals😍 and of course the reason I get to compete as a black belt, . Thanks to and , the dream team of matside coaches who have been yelling at me together since i was a white belt. Again, not the best, not the worst, but always the most fun.
Submission is always live. Submissions are what make Jiu Jitsu unique and should always be a part of the training environment.

We did it! The first ever invitational! We did a co-ed 5 person team competition and it couldn’t have gone better. Huge shout out to for setting up the live stream and competing! Another shout out to the amazing coaches who rallied their teams! Congratulations to mystery team champions! Who’d like to see a JGI2????
