introducing janie!! our little studio is growing with so much love. janie has been attending classes at eleos for over a year and recently completed her STOTT mat training. with her professional dance experience, her classes are filled with passion and care!
you can catch her on the schedule mondays @ 7a for mat: intermediate and fridays @ noon for mat: sliding scale ✨
a little about janie:
Janie grew up just outside of Richmond, where she discovered her passion for movement at an early age as a dancer. Her love for movement naturally led her into teaching, where she finds joy in sharing her knowledge and helping others connect to themselves through movement.
Janie is a certified 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, and recently completed her STOTT Pilates Mat training. She is thrilled to be working towards her STOTT Pilates Mat certification and plans to add more Pilates trainings to her resume.
Now, as a dance teacher, yoga instructor, and new Pilates instructor, Janie combines her skills to provide a well-rounded approach. Her classes emphasize technique, strength, and mobility. Janie is passionate about creating an environment where her students feel supported and empowered!

meet andre! we are thrilled to have him joining team eleos. with a heart of gold and a biomechanics nerd, andre provides a sense of safety and warmth in his classes🤍

a little about andre:
Andre is an E-RYT 200 certified yoga instructor who has taught over 1,000 hours of classes in the greater Richmond area since 2018. A Richmond native, he began his yoga and pilates journey after graduating from Morehouse College in an effort to heal injuries and correct imbalances wrought by 10 years of competitive swimming. He fell in love with the balance and control offered by Pilates and the anatomy-forward approach of the STOTT method.
With a background in physics/engineering, Andre brings his technical and analytical mind to all of his offerings. As a mechanics nerd, helping students adapt movements for their individual needs is a skill that he has honed both as a yogi and a coach with USA Swimming. Every body is unique, and Andre’s blended teaching reflects that – heavily prioritizing function and feel over aesthetics.
Andre is a STOTT PILATES Matwork trainee with certification expected in the Spring of 2025. You can find him on the schedule at both Eleos and TAOU offering Yin, Vinyasa, Pilates, meditation, and everything in between.

At Eleos - we practice Pilates.
Pilates cultivates awareness, precision, and control in every movement. Traditional Pilates focuses on strengthening the body from the inside out by creating balance of muscles. Understanding the exercises and the importance of the flow. Transitions. A comprehensive practice incorporates more than just the reformer. There is an entire integration of movement within the various apparatus. One that can be explored more deeply in a private lesson.
Pilates invites us to explore movement as medicine, breathe deeply, and focus on form. It’s about the intentional, mindful movement that nourishes your body. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced, traditional Pilates offers something for everyone.
When practiced properly, with strong guidance… with focus on form and connection, it can be surprisingly challenging.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate how Pilates helps us move with ease, grace, and strength in our everyday lives.
