πŸ†πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ WILLIAMSBURG INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONS πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ†

Two days. Two championship golf courses. One unforgettable Williamsburg Invitational.

Players from across Virginia battled through 36 holes at Williamsburg National’s Yorktown and Jamestown courses, facing changing conditions, challenging pin locations, and the pressure that only a true major championship-style event can provide.

When the final putts dropped, five champions stood atop the leaderboard:

πŸ† Champ Flight β€” Jon Coullier (-2)
πŸ† A Flight β€” Hawk Hawkins (+5)
πŸ† B Flight β€” Sean Redmond (+10)
πŸ† C Flight β€” Goose Donahue (+21) (Playoff Winner)
πŸ† D Flight β€” Audie Murphy (+31)

The tournament featured outstanding golf from start to finish, including a dramatic playoff in C Flight and one of the most impressive comeback performances of the season as Audie Murphy fired a final-round 85 to claim the D Flight title.

Congratulations to all of our champions, money-line finishers, and every player who competed over two great days in Williamsburg.

A special thank you to Williamsburg National for once again providing an outstanding championship venue and experience for our players.

Cypress Creek is a wonderful course with a fun layout, great conditions, and a staff that has been very supportive of our Tour.

Some tournaments are about scores. Some are about trophies. This one was about something bigger.

The Larry Maitland Appreciation Classic gave the Virginia Senior Tour a chance to compete, celebrate, and most importantly recognize a man who has given so much to this Tour. Larry Maitland has been a major part of the Virginia Senior Tour’s growth, leadership, and community, and this event gave players the opportunity to honor him properly as he steps away from the Tour Director’s chair.

Larry’s legacy is not only found in tournaments run, schedules built, or scorecards posted. It is found in the players he supported, the friendships he helped create, and the standard he set for what this Tour can be.

On the course, the competition delivered. The Champ Flight needed a playoff to decide a winner, and every flight produced strong performances from players who stepped up when it mattered.

When the day was done, five champions stood above the field β€” but the real story was bigger than the leaderboard.

Thank you, Larry.
