Wilson first base mitt came in for some love.

Cleaned it inside and out, then repaired the factory stitching that had failed in the palm. Conditioned and relaced in black to finish it off.

Some gloves come in closer to the trash can than the dugout. Most of the time it’s not damage, it’s just maintenance that got skipped. Cleaned the leather, conditioned and buffed for even coverage and a natural shine. Relaced with proper tension to restore structure.

A clean, conditioned glove doesn’t just look better, it plays better.

Dirty - Grime clogs the grain, stiffens leather.
Clean - True color shows.
Dry - Oils stripped, leather’s chalky and stiff.
Conditioned - Oils restored, leather flexes right.

Stiff leather deflects. Conditioned leather catches.

Wilson A2000 1786 cleaned/conditioned with our own products, relaced in pink.

Dry leather stiffens and cracks. Supple leather flexes and absorbs impact instead of fighting it. That’s not a feel preference, that’s mechanics.

Conditioner goes in by hand, then worked into the grain with wool while it’s still fresh. Once it sets, horse hair brushes off the excess and opens the grain back up.

Same care goes into the palm adhesive. It bonds the glove’s layers together. Heated to activate it, then rolled evenly for a solid hold.

That’s the difference between a glove that looks clean and a glove that plays right.
