Here is a good video on drop shots, commonly called 3rd shot drop. I feel strongly that you should be able to do a drop shot from anywhere on the court so that you can reposition, get back in ready position or, of course, get to the net. Here's a good video on the drop shot, commonly called the 3rd shot drop but I feel strongly that you should be able to perform a drop shot anywhere on the court. It will help you get rebalanced, let your partner get back in the play and, of course, get you to the net. I'll keep posting my favorite videos as we all want to improve all our games!

Coaches Corner: The 5 P's. Important points to consider.
1. PURPOSE - Have a purpose for every shot even if it is a neutral d**k to get you back on balance.
2. PATIENCE – wait for the right shot and work each rally so that YOU set up the best shot. Wait for the ball to come to you. No rush (ie overheads). . Work the ball so that you can get to the net and then KEEP working until you get the put away OR your opponent’s make a mistake.
3. POSITION - Footwork is VERY important. You must be able to move so that you have the ball in a position (body and paddle)to make the shot.
4. POISE – Have the mental toughness to think about your strategies both in a game plan and on each point. The put away usually comes a shot or two after the set up. This goes hand in hand with patience.
5. PRESSURE- If you have an opponent under pressure, keep hitting the ball to that person until they make a mistake.
