Nurture Yoga's Story
We walk because no one should ever have to carry the weight of the dark alone. As a therapist and yoga studio owner, my life’s work has been dedicated to helping people dismantle the perceived obstacles in their path—reminding each of us that even in our darkest moments, healing is possible, support is near, and we can keep going.
We carry with us the loving memory dear friends, lost to su***de, beloved clients and friends. I personally walk for “Roddha” a beautiful soul I once knew in the 2000s and for our cherished clients, friends and family who left us too soon.
Today we are learning to honor their lives and lives lost to su***de by turning our grief into meaningful action. As a yoga community, we are guided by the foundation of *ahimsa*—the practice of non-harm in thought, word, and deed toward ourselves and others. We know that practicing *ahimsa* means creating space for deep compassion, active listening, and gentle kindness when someone is suffering.
Together, as a collective of like-minded souls, we are stepping out into the light to break the silence surrounding mental health, to build a bridge of connection for anyone feeling isolated, and to stand as a living reminder that hope is always present. Every step we take is a vow to hold space for one another, to honor those we’ve lost, and to ensure that no one ever has to walk through the shadows by themselves.
Walk with us..please.
You can also donate to the
Su***de Prevention Task Force. All funds raised stay in McHenry County to support su***de prevention programs and survivors of su***de loss.
The walk is a little over two miles. Participants are invited to bring a photo of a loved one who has died by su***de to include on our Remembrance Wall.
