“Hey Rockets! I am so excited for my second year as a swim coach at Church Run. I have been a Church Run Rocket myself for the past 11 summers! I just graduated from Godwin High School, where I was a member of the Varsity Track and Cross Country teams as well as a Class Council representative. In the Fall, I will be attending Virginia Tech to study engineering. In my free time, I enjoy playing pickleball and spending time with friends. 

My favorite CRR memories are definitely donut practices and water polo. I can’t wait to meet all the swimmers. I know we will have an amazing season, and I really look forward to coaching!”

“Hi Rockets! My name is Kelsey Boughton! This is my second year coaching for Church Run and I am so excited! I have been a rocket for 14 years and this year is my last year as a swimmer. I recently graduated from Glen Allen High School, where I was on the swim team for 3 seasons. I am so excited to get to know each swimmer better! Other than coaching, I love to hang out with friends, play pickleball, go out for ice cream, and watch my favorite tv shows!

My favorite memories from the team is going to World of Beer after meets and Water Country day! I love having social time with swimmers outside of the pool. I cant wait for all the fun social activities of this season! Let’s go Rockets!”

“What’s up, Rockets! I am super excited to be a coach at Church Run this summer! I have swam for the Rockets for the past 13 years! I just graduated from Godwin High School where I had been on the swim team for all 4 years. In the Fall, I will be a freshman at Old Dominion University where I will be studying business and competing on their swim team. I can’t wait to get to know all of our swimmers and have the best summer! GO ROCKETS!!!“

“Hey Rockets! My name is Ella Grace Anderson! This will be my first year coaching for the team and I am SUPER excited! I have been a rocket for 11 years!!! I am a rising junior at Glen Allen High School where I’ve participated on the swim team for 2 years! I’m looking forward to creating bonds with the swimmers! Outside of the pool, I enjoy spending time with my friends whether we’re playing pickleball or getting ice cream!

My favorite memory from the team is going to eat after the swim meets! I love getting to spend time with the team after competing! I I can’t wait to create new memories this year! Go Rockets!”

“Hi Rockets! I am SO excited to be back for my fourth season as a coach and 15th summer as a rocket! I’m a rising third year at UVA majoring in Youth and Social Innovation and Spanish with hopes of becoming a Child Life Specialist. When I’m not at Church Run, you can probably find me trying new foods, napping, playing pickleball, and spending time with friends and my dog Ellie.

My favorite CRR memories include donut practices, tattoos at champs, and riding the Aquazoid more times than we can count at Water Country! Looking forward to making this the best season yet!”

We are going to be introducing a coach a day leading up to our first meet! We’re starting off with our Head Coach, Kayla! 🚀

“What’s up Rocket fam, this is Coach Kayla and I’m so excited to be back for my 2nd season as Head Coach! I’ve been an OG rocket since 2011 (baby pool throwback), and I’ll be starting my junior year in the fall at Virginia Tech, studying to become an elementary school teacher! I’m also minoring in psychology and early childhood education, and along with working at a childcare center at school, I keep pretty busy! I love hanging out with my friends and going to tech football games because I’m a big sports fan!

My favorite memory is definitely watching our new rockets make it across the pool for the first time! I’m so excited to cheer on our new and returning rockets at our first meet!”

New Rockets Swimmers! Sign up for your time slot now!

We are holding swimming evaluations for the 2026 season on Sunday, April 26th! If you have a NEW swimmer who has never swam for us before, please sign up for a time slot by putting their first and last name. Each evaluation is no longer than 10 minutes. The requirements to make the team this year are as follows:

The swimmer must be able to complete a full lap (25 yards) without touching the bottom of the pool or pushing off the lane line/coach.
