on riding BMX. His parents, Big Chad and Brenda Powers nurtured this passion, becoming members of their local BMX track board, and let him build a sweet bmx track in the backyard. He secured jobs in top cycling shops in the Dc/Metro area where he learned how to build and maintain everything from scuffed up scraper bikes to top of the line seven-digit carbon triathlon models. In 2004 Powers Bike Shop became the mobile shop that is known today after Chad sustained injuries on the track that effectively ended his racing career. As bummed as he was he didn't let that stop him from being a part of BMX and now years later Powers Bike Shop is going strong. It has expanded from a shady unmarked van in the parking lot of skate parks and National races everywhere to a "real" brick and mortar shop in downtown town richmond Va, mail order warehouse and mobile shop so many riders and their families have grown to know and love.
