He is incredibly proud of taking his passion for dance to the next level through his school's theater productions. He's honed his ability to learn moves quickly and improvise, skills he'll undoubtedly carry forward. Among his favorite memories at AIM are the amazing teachers he met, the friends he made, and learning to count beats and rhythms.

After graduation, Garrett is off to Randolph-Macon College to major in Communications, with a possible minor in Theatre. He aspires to become a journalist or enter the entertainment industry. In 10 years, he sees himself working in news media, pursuing theater on the side, and potentially even launching his own media company! We can't wait to see all that Garrett achieves!

We're thrilled to shine our Senior Spotlight on Ava Wiederman, who is graduating from Henrico High School's Center for the Arts! Ava's time in the dance world has been nothing short of inspiring. She's incredibly proud of performing at High School Dance Festivals, creating her own piece for the CFA dance senior showcase, and earning a CFA Dance scholarship! Next up,

Ava is heading to JMU to major in Biology and Minor in Dance, with plans to pursue her Master's afterward. In 10 years, she envisions herself as a researcher in embodied cognition, exploring how movement like dance influences thought, perception, and brain development. How incredible is that?!

Ava has been dancing at AIM for 10 years, and credits her time here with teaching her important skills like resilience, perseverance, patience, problem-solving, and discipline – all of which she'll carry into her exciting future. Some of her favorite AIM memories include performing at the Altria Theatre her freshman year and learning from amazing teachers and classmates. We're so proud of you, Ava, and can't wait to see all you accomplish!

Wnat to catch Ava on stage for ? Our very last show is this Sunday, June 1st at 3pm at James River High School. Get your tickets: https://buff.ly/9MMfTTr

It's time to celebrate another amazing graduating senior! We're putting the spotlight on the incredible Cameron Starke from Godwin High School. Cameron has so much to be proud of, including getting into VCU, securing a job, gaining the confidence to perform a senior solo, forming strong bonds with supportive friends, developing as an artist, and gracefully adapting through life's challenges.

Cameron will be heading to VCU Arts this fall, where they'll be majoring in Communication Arts. In ten years, Cameron aspires to be a concept artist for an animation company, hoping to achieve a stable job and then travel!

From their time at AIM, Cameron has developed invaluable qualities like confidence, individuality, perseverance, and adaptability, drawing inspiration from all their teachers and fellow dancers. One of Cameron's favorite memories is the pure excitement of being cast as the Mad Hatter in Ms. Aleece's Jazz dance – it was the first time they truly embodied their own character, and it left a lasting impression. Cameron's favorite thing about AIM is its incredibly supportive and inclusive atmosphere, emphasizing that "AIM isn't just a dance studio, it's a family." We are so incredibly proud of you, Cameron, and can't wait to see the rest of your artistic journey unfold!

Let's shine our senior spotlight on the incredibly accomplished Rhys Romero from Glen Allen High School! Rhys is graduating with an outstanding 4.1 GPA and has been incredibly involved, spending their last few years excelling in band, marching band, dance, theatre, and serving as a member of the Q***r Student Alliance and Secretary of the Latino Student Union.

After graduation, Rhys is embarking on an exciting 12-month Spanish immersion gap year program in Valencia, Spain. Following that, they plan to pursue a major in architecture with a specialization in Historic Preservation. In ten years, Rhys envisions a successful career, a wife, and kids.

This is Rhy's first year dancing at AIM, and they've learned a powerful lesson in that short time: "Anywhere can be a q***r space if led by the right inclusive people." Their favorite memory about AIM is that "it was a space where I could exercise surrounded by q***r joy." We are so incredibly proud of your achievements and spirit, Rhys, and wish you all the best on your amazing journey!

Rhys hits the stage for this Sunday, June 1st at 3pm at James River High School. Get your tickets here: https://buff.ly/9MMfTTr
