Our is Maryam Mirzakhani! Dr. Mirzakhani was both the first woman and the first Iranian to be honored with the Fields Metal, the most prestigous award in mathematics. Sadly Dr. Mirzakhani passed away due to breast cancer on July 14, 2017.
