The group was founded in June 2013. If you're interested in swimming with us, please come meet us at one of our Swim With the Magnolias summertime events or message this page. Oh! And we'd love to have men swim with us too! We are also looking for community collaborators and performance opportunities. Team meetings/practices are held Mondays and Wednesdays 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Swansboro Pool most

Today’s spotlight turns to the one and only: The Float G.O.A.T.
She did water ballet in Baltimore for many years and one of the founding Mags moved to Baltimore and swam with her for a few months and that’s how she found out about the Mags!

Hey yall - I’m Gaby the Guppy!
🌸Time as a Magnolia: 1.5 years
💕What do I love about my team? Everyone chooses to be here, despite their jobs and day-to-day lives. We’re adults with a whimsical hobby, it’s a wonderful energy to be around!
A little more about me: I’m healing my inner niña - one sidequest at a time🫶🏽 Joining the Mags is actually one of the ways I’ve found joy in doing something I once saw in the iconic A Cinderella Story movie when I was a kid. I was one of many who signed up for the first class offered through the City Of Richmond Parks n Rec in 2024. I joined the team towards the end of 2024/early 2025. Never thought I’d be doing this, but here’s to surprising yourself 😊 Hobbies outside of this: learning to sew, write snail mail and am a Virginia Master Naturalist. Also, currently trying to run the Magnolias’ Social Media Accts (emphasis on try)🤓
