Matinee Hours: 12pm-2pm

As a reminder, please reserve and check in for all visits to TWR. If your app does not offer a time for reservation then your membership does not permit access during that time. While training without a reservation/check-in incurs a $15 fee, training without permitted access is effectively tailgating and a $50 fee. Thank you.

Congratulations to Dr. Mychal Smith — 2nd place in the Masters Open Division at the Natural Strongman World Championship!
•
Mychal Smith was solid throughout finishing 2nd or 3rd place on every event. In the end, he was only 1 point behind first place overall. It is also worth mentioning that after 24 years in the sport, Mychal earned TWR’s first strongman drug test. Huge appreciation goes to the folks Natural Strongman 🌍 for making this level playing field a reality.

Thanks to the crew back home for allowing me to make the trip with him, to Karan Elizabeth for assisting at the event, and, as always, to Danny Clingenpeel for writing Mychal’s training for this event. FYI, Worlds is in Texas next year. Who is coming with us?

A solid deadlift PR to wrap up a perfect meet for Kyle at the American Pro Open Day. 9/9 on the day finishing with a 30kg (66lbs) over his previous best total. Top lifts were 250kg (551lbs) squat, 170kg (374lbs) bench press, and this 250kg (551lbs) deadlift. Thanks to Maxwell Davis for helping at the meet. And, as always, thanks to Danny Clingenpeel for writing another successful meet prep.

In case you’re new here, we have had a few floods since the city built a levy behind our building. Even though the water pools and enters from their property they have claimed it is an issue of property lines. So, there is little chance of them putting a drain in on their side, which means we have to pump from ours. So far pumping has kept damage to a minimum, but tonight the pumps couldn’t keep up. Sorry for the inconvenience (and the mess). I’ll let everyone know when things are dried out.
