James Wesley has been putting in serious work at XVelo 💪⚾️ Consistent every day.
Hitting 3rd and locking it down at shortstop for his high school squad — the definition of a hard worker and an even better teammate. One of the best guys to have around, on and off the field. 🔥

RLL Coach Pitch Mets ablaze! 🔥 XVelo hitters Reier, Ezra, Brody, Crosby, Lincoln and Wren have stepped up their game and it's paying off on the field!!
Chase Hungate (Free Agent) RHP out of Mississippi State stopped by Xvelo this morning for a bullpen session 💪
Fastball showed plus movement, and the slider had solid sweep. Flashed the ability to work from two arm slots.
121 career punchouts with a 3.86 ERA… and still getting better.
We enjoyed getting to work with him. Big things ahead 👀
Coleson Bakes had another impressive night 💪
One of our most consistent guys, and it’s showing. Lately he’s been putting in serious work on his load—staying coiled all the way into contact—and it paid off big tonight.
+2 mph exit velo since the new year 📈
As an 8th grader, he’s already earned a spot on the JV team at Powhatan HS. The work speaks for itself.
Locked in at the plate today 🔥
Started off pulling off a bit, but made the adjustment—stayed through the middle, shifted the focus to right center, and everything clicked. Back on track and absolutely crushed the session
Struggling with drifting forward in your swing? This player was doing exactly that—constantly pushing his weight out front and losing power and balance.
We introduced the step back drill, and everything started to click. By stepping back into the load, he was finally able to feel his weight shift the right way—back and controlled—setting up a stronger, more explosive move to the ball.
James Carney getting work in where it counts—efficient turns, tight patterns, and clean barrel delivery.
If you’re rolling over consistently… your focal point needs to change.
Too many hitters say they’re thinking “stay through it… centerfield…”
…but the result is still pull-side ground balls.
That’s a sign your timing + direction are off.
👉 Shift the focal point.
Instead of centerfield, start thinking right-center.
Now you’re giving yourself more space to stay through the ball, control the barrel longer, and clean up the path.
This isn’t a full swing change.
It’s a small adjustment that can completely change your outcome.
Same swing + same focal point = same results.

Cutting down walks isn’t about throwing harder… it’s about throwing smarter.
Command starts with intent, not just mechanics.
Own the middle early, understand your misses, and make hitters uncomfortable making decisions.
Every pitch should have a purpose — that’s how you stay ahead, not behind.
