Congratulations to Nic Gaines on committing to Coker University! 🎉⚾️
It has been awesome watching his growth over the last few months in here at Xvelo and getting after it with him in the batting cage. His work ethic and dedication are second to none, and I know he’s going to do special things at the collegiate level.

Excited to see how it all plays out for him. The best is yet to come!

Ellis Holbert back in XVelo swinging today 💪⚾️
We’ve been working on getting his weight loaded onto the backside, creating a strong turn, and staying connected with the barrel through the swing.

Small adjustments. Consistent work. Big-time progress.

Alex working through some side toss with a focus on improving his barrel path.
The goal here is to get the barrel working behind him first, creating depth and allowing the body to sequence the swing instead of pushing the hands directly toward the baseball.

From there, we want the barrel to work flat with the ball through the hitting zone. We’re not trying to chop down on the baseball or force the barrel down into contact. We want the barrel to match the pitch and stay through the ball as long as possible.

The feel: get the barrel behind you, then let it work flat with the baseball.

This is all about creating better barrel depth, improving the sequence of the swing, and giving Alex a more efficient path into the hitting zone.

Lee Driscoll performing the Darvish drill, working to get his weight into the back of his heel. This helps prevent him from dumping his pelvis forward and allows him to maintain a more vertical posture as he moves linearly down the mound.

A lot of athletes pick up and immediately lean forward, keeping their back leg bent in flexion. This never allows them to properly sit into their back hip and maintain a more level pelvis as they move down the mound. By creating better posture and pelvic position, Lee can move more efficiently and rotate more freely.

Lee Driscoll — another strong XVelo pitching session this week. He continues to stand out with the way he works and competes. The three-pitch mix is coming together nicely: the fastball has good run, and the changeup is playing well off of it with strong arm-side fade. His slider is developing more sweeping action as well. Great progress as he prepares for the fall and winter, with the goal of being ready to make an impact this spring.
