🕎 Does your menorah have a story to tell?

This Chanukah, help us bring Windows of Light to life by sharing a family menorah and the story behind it. Passed down through generations, carried across continents, or part of a beloved tradition, each menorah holds a piece of our community’s story.

Richmond Hebrew Day School students will record participants’ memories to be shared alongside the menorahs in the exhibition. All menorahs will be securely displayed in locked gallery cases and carefully returned.

Have a menorah and a story to share? We’d love to include yours.

Shana Tova from the Weinstein JCC!

Wishing our community a sweet and meaningful New Year filled with peace, connection, joy, and new beginnings.

May the year ahead bring new beginnings and many opportunities to gather, celebrate, and grow together.

A new year begins with hope. 🍎🍯

At Camp Hilbert, we asked our campers and staff what they hope for in the year ahead. Their answer? Kindness and lifelong friendship.

It’s a simple hope, and one that reflects what we strive to build every day at the Weinstein JCC: a community where meaningful connections begin, friendships grow, and everyone belongs.

As Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown tonight, we’re proud to add our voices to JCCs across North America for the JCC Movement’s Many Hopes, One Shared Vision.

May the year ahead bring more kindness, deeper connections, and plenty of reasons to celebrate together.

Shabbat Shalom and Shanah Tovah!

Get creative with clay at the Weinstein JCC! 🏺

Young artists can explore pottery through hands-on classes designed to build skills, creativity, and confidence.

Pre-K Hand-Building | Ages 4–5
Little artists will explore pinch pots, coil-building, slab-building, glazing, and decorating as they create pottery of their own to take home.

Elementary Wheel Throwing | Grades K–5
Students will learn the basics of wheel throwing while working toward individual goals—whether that’s creating a bowl, mug, or another piece they’re excited to make. They’ll finish by glazing and decorating their work.

No prior pottery experience needed.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed by that day.

On this 25th anniversary, we honor those we lost, remember the courage and compassion shown in the days that followed, and hold their families, loved ones, and communities in our thoughts.

We will never forget.

109 years young and just getting started as an artist. 🎨

Tonight, join us in celebrating Amy Meyers Krumbein, a Richmond icon who discovered a new passion for painting just three years ago.

A little about Amy: She’s a mother of 4, grandmother of 9, and great-grandmother of 12. For decades, she has given back through leadership and philanthropy across Richmond’s Jewish community, served as a volunteer reading tutor, and was appointed to the Virginia Board of Psychology by Governor Baliles. And her secret to longevity? Amy credits more than 60 years of faithfully swimming at her beloved Weinstein JCC.

See Amy’s abstract works tonight and get a first look at our 2026–2027 Arts + Ideas: Season of Celebration!

Tonight | 5–7 PMin the Sara D. November Galleryat the Weinstein JCC
