🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸
Today we remember that freedom has never been free.
We honor the men and women who laid down their lives for this country… sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, teammates, and friends who never made it home. ❤️🤍💙
Murph, the folded flag, the empty seat at the table… these are more than traditions. They are reminders of sacrifice.
At CrossFit Crumville, we pause today not just to enjoy a long weekend, but to remember why we have the freedom to gather, train, worship, speak, and live the lives we do.
✝️ “And if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people unto myself.” John 12:32
Today we remember.
Today we honor.
Today we give thanks. 🇺🇸

MURPH 2026 🇺🇸
Today we honored those killed on June 28th, 2005 during Operation Red Wings including Lt. Michael Murphy, Danny Dietz, and Matthew Axelson, the 8 other SEALS and 8 Night Hawk crew members, AND all the others who have given everything in service to this amazing country we are privileged to call home.
We did Murph today instead of Monday so Ted could suffer through it with us one last time before he leaves for 6 months to attend paramedic school.
That’s the thing about this community… workouts matter, but the people matter more.
Today there were first timers, RX athletes, scaled athletes, partner teams, laughing, suffering, sweat angels on the floor, and everyone refused to quit when things got hard.
And honestly… what a blessing that is…
To have lungs that burn.
Legs that get tired.
Arms that give out.
People beside you encouraging you.
And the freedom to choose hard things.
Proud of every single person who showed up today. 🇺🇸

One of the most important conversations that happened at CrossFit Crumville this morning had nothing to do with scores, PRs, or the leaderboard.
It happened after the workout… when a group of us were talking about ego, aging, scaling, and the way people often misunderstand what CrossFit is actually about and what it’s actually supposed to be.
Nancy pulled this paper out of her locker and read it to us. She wrote these affirmations for different periods of class where doubt or comparison try to sneak in.
Not because she’s weak… but because she’s WISE enough to understand that fitness changes as we age. At 63, she’s not trying to compete with 25-year-olds. She’s trying to stay strong, independent, capable, healthy, and alive for as many years as God gives her.
And honestly… That mindset is harder than lifting heavy weights. Because many people never learn how to separate their worth from performance. They beat themselves up when they need to scale. They compare themselves to others. They chase what they used to be instead of honoring where they are now.
But different isn’t worse. Different isn’t weak. Different is simply a new season that requires wisdom instead of ego.
This is what CrossFit SHOULD be about:
👏 Learning your body.
👏 Training for longevity.
👏 Protecting your future.
👏 Building resilience.
👏 Having the humility to adjust.
👏 And continuing to show up anyway.
I know she doesn’t see it this way, but Nancy is one of the strongest people in our gym… not because of a score… but because she keeps showing up with grace, perspective, and courage in a season where many people simply quit.
And the line that hit me hardest when she said it was, “Physical decline is a choice…” Because it’s all hard… choose your hard 🫶
