WELCOMING LIZ TO OUR HEART TEACHING STAFF! 🤍
Liz will be teaching Intermediate/Advanced Adult Ballet on Fridays at 10am!
Liz Matejka-Grossman began dancing at age three in Ann Arbor, Michigan and trained extensively in both the Cecchetti and Royal Academy of Dance traditions, earning Associate status with the RAD. At sixteen, she moved to London to attend the Upper School of the Royal Ballet School, where she trained and performed under the direction of Dame Merle Park. Her training also included the Royal Danish Ballet School, L’Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo, and London Studio Centre.
Liz continued her dance and academic studies at the University of Michigan, Harvard, Teachers College at Columbia University, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She performed professionally with Ballet Theatre of Boston and as a freelance dancer in New York, while also teaching and choreographing.
A longtime educator and advocate for inclusive arts, Liz co-founded Sharing the Arts and has taught ballet, modern, and jazz to students ranging from young children to professional dancers.
Most meaningfully to us, Liz was part of the Art of Motion community for more than 20 years under the direction of Lynn Needle and Olivia Galgano. She performed with the company, taught on the faculty, and choreographed for performances. She continued teaching through Art of Motion’s transition to HeART in Motion, making her return to our teaching staff especially meaningful.
Her classes are rooted in the Royal Ballet tradition and emphasize technique, musicality, artistry, movement, and, above all, the joy of dancing.
