September 26th marked the date for the 2nd Annual BarBox Queens Handicapped Women’s Tournament. First off, we would like to express our gratitude to Shooters Riverside management and staff for the hospitality and service throughout the duration of this tournament! Without them opening up their doors and new diamond tables to us, this event wouldn’t have been possible. Aside from changing the location to Shooters and moving it one month earlier, we made several changes to the ladies tournament this year. This time around the BBQ featured handicapped races with the ladies going anywhere from 3-6 games playing 8-ball on the winners side and 9-ball on the losers side. Ultimately we ended up with 34 queens that put up and cash and gave it their all. The field this year consisted of ladies with a wide variety of skill levels with Fargos ranging anywhere from 160 to 602, and the average being 448. Of the 34 participants, 23 were BBK main event first-timers, and surprisingly only 7 were returning players from last year’s BBQ. Much respect to all 34 ladies for putting on a show! And a special shoutout to those that traveled out of state to join us for this one! Nicole Obarowski, Justine Bishop, and Jaye Succo (from AZ) and Tam Trinh (from NV)!
It was a grueling day (to say the least) for the ladies that went the distance. Doors opened at 10am, matches started at 11am sharp and the tournament was running at great pace! Then when it got to the bubble matches, things understandably slowed down as the women intensified their efforts to grab a piece of the $5K+ prize pool. The finals wrapped up at 1:30am, resulting in a 15+ hour day of pool. And the results were as follows:
🏆 Tournament 🏆
🥇: Gigi Callejas- $1500
🥈: Linda Perez- $950
🥉: Jaye Succo- $640
4th: Erika Carino- $400
5/6th: Justine Bishop & Melissa Schulz-$230 ea
7/8th: Sandra Cauchon & Melinda Huang- $150 ea
💰Top 4 Side Pot 💰

🍯 Winner Takes All Side Pot 🍯
🥇: Gigi Callejas- $280
Some of these women beat us to posting their results…it’s nice to see everyone sharing their experience! A huge congratulations to all of our winners! 👸 A special shoutout to Gigi for going a perfect 6-0 to snap it off! Gigi came out on top of 2 very intense hill-hill battles back to back to stay on the winners side, and despite fatigue settling in she was able to get the job done 💪! Also, a huge shoutout to our runner-up, Linda! Linda had to dig deep early on in the tournament, finding herself down 3-0, but came back to win hill-hill! Later on in the tournament, she suffered a decisive first loss to Jaye Succo, but she clawed back on the losers side. Eventually she met Jaye again, but the second time she was able to grind out the win, securing her spot in the finals! Way to go ladies! 👑
That being said, thank you again to all that participated in this tournament! Thank you to everyone that supported in person or tuned into the stream. Props to all the significant others that rocked with us start to finish, y’all are warriors too 😅 👊. A special thank you to those that continue to support us, provide valuable insight, and/or go out of your way to provide words of encouragement. There are no words to express how much you are appreciated🙏. Lastly, thank you to our sponsors for their support!
