Renewing is a constant process.

We don’t just reinvent ourselves once and arrive at some finished version of who we’re supposed to be.

We grow. We struggle. We learn. We let go of what no longer fits. We get stronger. Sometimes we slow down. Sometimes we begin again.

And every season asks something a little different from us.

I’m learning that renewal isn’t about starting over.

It’s about taking everything you’ve learned, everything you’ve lived through, and continuing to become.

Keep moving. Keep growing. Keep renewing. 💜

One thing I wish more women knew about midlife…

Getting older doesn’t mean we have to stop getting stronger. 💪

As women age, maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important for our strength, bone health, balance, metabolism, and independence.

And for me, this is a big part of why I train.

I want my body to keep carrying me to places like this. 🏔️

A few things we can do to stay strong and capable as we age:

💜 Strength train regularly
💜 Eat enough protein
💜 Walk and stay active
💜 Work on balance, mobility, and cardiovascular fitness
💜 Prioritize recovery and sleep

The goal isn’t to fight aging.

It’s to build a strong, capable body that supports the life we want to keep living.

Whatever that life looks like for you. 💜

I’m currently reading Unbreakable by Dr. Vonda Wright, and one message keeps standing out to me:

Getting older doesn’t mean we stop becoming stronger.

In fact, we have so much more power over our health, strength, and quality of life than we’ve been led to believe.

As women, it’s easy to accept feeling tired, losing muscle, or slowing down as “just part of aging.”

But it doesn’t have to be.

Taking care of our bodies, building strength, and staying active isn’t about trying to be younger.

It’s about creating the healthiest, strongest version of ourselves for the years ahead.

If you’re looking for a book that encourages you to think differently about aging and what your body is capable of, I’d definitely recommend this one. 💜📚

Have you read any books lately that have inspired you?

Yes… I wore my 30 lb weight vest to the grocery store. 😂

I had just finished a stair climber workout and thought, “Why not keep carrying the load a little longer?”

I definitely got a few looks, but it made me think about something…

We don’t just train to lift weights in the gym.

We train to carry groceries.
We train to hike mountains.
We train to keep up with our kids and grandkids.
We train to make everyday life feel easier.

Adding load, whether it’s a weight vest, carrying a backpack, or simply getting stronger in the gym, helps build strength, bone health, endurance, and resilience.

Because life asks us to carry a lot sometimes.

I’d rather be strong enough for it. 💜

And if you’ve ever thought, “I just want everyday things to feel easier,” strength training can help with that too.

Now be honest… would you wear a 30 lb weight vest to the grocery store? 😄

Every trail teaches me the same lesson.

You almost never see the view from the trailhead.

The best views usually come after the steep climbs, the tired legs, and the moments when you wonder if it’s worth continuing.

Life has a way of working like that too.

The challenges we face often shape us more than the easy moments ever could.

So if you’re climbing something difficult right now, don’t lose heart.

Keep taking the next step.

The view you’re hoping for is often just beyond the part where you wanted to quit. 💜

One of the biggest lies many women believe is that taking care of themselves is selfish.

So they put everyone else first.

Their family.
Their job.
Their responsibilities.

And somewhere along the way, they end up at the bottom of their own list.

But taking care of yourself isn’t selfish.

It’s one of the most powerful things you can do.

Because when you have more energy, more strength, and more capacity, it spills forward into every area of your life.

Your loved ones benefit.
Your relationships benefit.
Your work benefits.

You benefit.

Taking care of yourself isn’t taking away from others.

It’s investing in the person who shows up for them every day 💜

And if you’ve been putting yourself last for too long, I’d love to help you change that.

Life has a way of reminding us that not everything goes according to plan.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve traveled to spend time with my dad, who’s on hospice, gotten sick, missed workouts, and stepped away from social media for a bit.

And while part of me wishes I had stayed on track with everything, another part of me knows this is simply part of life.

One of the biggest misconceptions about health and fitness is that successful people never get off track.

The truth is, we all do.

The difference is that we don’t let a difficult season convince us to quit.

We rest.
We regroup.
And when we’re ready, we begin again.

That’s the same advice I give the women I work with.

You don’t have to be perfect.
You don’t have to make up for lost time.
You just have to keep moving forward when you’re able.

And if you’ve been feeling off track lately too, know that you’re not alone 💜

Have you ever noticed how often we tell ourselves, “I’ll start when…”?

I’ll start when I have more time.

I’ll start when I have more energy.

I’ll start when I feel more confident.

The problem is that confidence usually doesn’t come before action.

It comes from taking the first step.

Most of the things I’m proud of today started before I felt completely ready.

And I’ve seen the same thing happen with the women I work with.

They don’t begin because they’re confident.

They become confident because they begin.

What’s something you’ve been putting off because you’re waiting to feel ready? 💜

And if you’ve been wanting to start your health and fitness journey but don’t know where to begin, I’d be happy to help.

Most women don’t need another workout plan.

They don’t need another diet.

And they probably don’t need more information.

What they need is a way to stay consistent when life gets busy.

Because the challenge usually isn’t knowing what to do.

It’s doing it when you’re tired.
When work gets stressful.
When family needs your attention.
When motivation disappears.

That’s where support, accountability, and a realistic plan make all the difference.

You don’t have to be perfect to make progress.

You just need a plan that fits your life and someone in your corner helping you stay the course 💜

If you’re tired of starting over every Monday and ready for a plan that fits your real life, I’d love to help.

Send me a message and let’s talk 💜

Yesterday I spent the day gardening, hauling bags of soil, digging, lifting, carrying, and moving things around the yard.

And it reminded me of something I tell my clients all the time…

Strength training isn’t just about what happens in the gym.

It’s about making everyday life easier.

Whether it’s gardening, carrying groceries, hiking, traveling, or playing with grandkids, strength gives you the ability to do more of the things you enjoy with less fatigue and fewer aches and pains.

A lot of women think they need to get stronger for the gym.

I think we should get stronger for life 💜

And if you’ve been feeling like everyday tasks are getting harder than they should be, strength training can help.

You don’t have to figure it out on your own. If you’re ready to feel stronger and more capable in your everyday life, I’d love to help guide you 💜
