A perfect fall day with an even better purpose. Together, we raised $1,500 for Wonderland Camp! 🎉

Every runner, walker, volunteer and supporter helped make this Oktoberfest about more than the finish line. Thank you for showing up, bringing the fun and giving back to our community.

Let’s do it again at the LOTO Turkey Trot 5K and Fun Run! Join us Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 26, at 8:30 a.m. at Camdenton High School.🦃

All profits from the Turkey Trot are split between the Camdenton Cross Country team and Share the Harvest Food Pantry. Bring someone you’re thankful for and start your holiday with us!

Some of the best things we’ve ever done started with a friend saying, “You should do this with me.”

We asked what people would never have tried without a friend’s push. The answers included a first 5K, marathons, ultras, a Tough Mudder, a 100-miler through terrible weather, and early-morning alarms.

Every one of these stories started with someone being invited in. Maybe you’re the friend who sends the next invite.

Who got you started? Tag them in the comments, or tag someone you want to bring to their first race 👇

She’s been running for a while, and her hardest thing is still fueling and hydration. She drinks plenty of water, but getting everything else right has been tough, especially with her dietary needs.

If you can relate, you’re in good company. Every runner is a work in progress, no matter how many miles they’ve logged.

What’s something you’re still learning as a runner? Tell us in the comments 👇

The Hidden Costs of Putting on a Race: Cone Edition

We had a great morning at our Oktoberfest 5K in Osage Beach! Unfortunately, we also had a few casualties.

Pictured here are three traffic cones that bravely gave their lives in the line of duty this morning. They were simply trying to keep runners safe. They didn't deserve this.

We're not sure whether their demise was the result of distracted driving, poor driving, or someone who just really doesn't like traffic cones. Whatever the reason, they won't be joining us for our next race.

Here's the not-so-funny part.

Those three mangled cones represent more than $75 in equipment we'll have to replace.

When you register for a race, there are a lot of expenses you probably never think about. Traffic control equipment is just one of them. And when we lose equipment like this at multiple events, those costs add up. We do our best to keep registration fees affordable while putting on safe, well-organized races.

But there's something more important than the money.

If a driver is close enough to hit a traffic cone, they're close enough to hit a runner.

We put these cones out for a reason. They're not decorations, suggestions, or bonus points in a driving game.

So, to our runners, thanks for supporting our events and understanding that there's a lot more to putting on a race than handing out medals and bananas.

And to the drivers out there, please slow down, pay attention, and give our cones (and especially our runners) a little room.

Rest in peace, little orange soldiers. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. 🟠🏃

🍂 **OKTOBERFEST IS THIS SATURDAY!** 🍻

You don't have to be a runner to join the fun. In fact, that's kind of the point!

Join us Saturday, October 17, at 10:00 AM at The Sanctuary Brewery in Osage Beach for our Oktoberfest races!

We've got two distances to choose from:

5K (3.1 miles)** – Runners, walkers, kids, families, first-timers... EVERYONE is welcome! Never done a 5K? This is a great opportunity to give one a try. There's no need to be fast. Just come out, get moving, and enjoy the experience!
5K (yes, POINT FIVE K!)** – For those who believe running is best enjoyed in very small doses. It's just over 500 yards. You can do this. We believe in you.

Best of all, proceeds benefit Official Wonderland Camp, helping support a wonderful organization that makes a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities.

ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES THURSDAY NIGHT!

Miss the deadline? No worries! Race-day registration will be available.

Whether you're chasing a personal best, trying your first 5K, or just trying to survive 500 meters, there's a place for you at Oktoberfest!
