Dear Diary,
My Mom isn't feeling well and has been laying around for a couple of days. I keep her company and nap with her. Today, she needed more medicine and Joey is working, so we went to CVS. I am quiet and calm in the car now. Remember, Diary, when I used to pace and whine the whole car ride? Mom and I worked hard to get me over that. Anyway, I'm now laying with my head in her lap, and we're watching Survivor. I think she's feeling a little bit better today. I hope so.
Love,
Mooshi

Hello! My name is Lennie. I'm between 5-7 years old and was adopted by my new mom just 18 days ago. Ms Hope came to my house today. I was very happy to meet her. Once she started working with me, though, I got nervous and started to shut down. Ms Hope was very patient, tried some different things, and before I knew it, I was happily learning with her! She taught me to sit, touch, lay down, stay, and to ring a bell! My new mom was very proud of me. We are looking forward to doing our homework and seeing Ms Hope again in a couple of weeks.

Dear Diary,
Last Saturday, Mom and I took a drive to Joey's house. Joey is Mom's boyfriend. I love Joey, but it is hard for me to share Mom with him. Car rides are also hard for me. I just don't know where we're going, how long it will take, what will happen once we get there...It makes me feel anxious, so I whine a lot. Mom puts music on, but she can still hear me. I've gotten better at staying in the back seat, though. I used to push my way into the front seat to be next to Mom, but I know that's not safe. I was happy when we arrived at Joey's house. He has a big yard with so many new smells! I was also excited to see his dog, Charlie the Beagle, although Charlie didn't want to play with me. Joey's next-door neighbors have dogs. One played with me. The other one growled at me. Maybe next time she will play with me, too. We spent a lot of time in the backyard. I was mostly exploring and sniffing. Mom and Joey chatted. Even though I was so exhausted from the visit, I whined for 30 minutes on the way home. I finally relaxed and fell asleep while Mom listened to a show on NPR about migrating birds. As you know, Diary, I tend to experience life with a pretty intense combination of anticipation-anxiety-excitement. Mom and I navigate life together, helping each other.
Love,
Mooshi

This is me surveying the yard for squirrels and chipmunks to chase while my Mom is working nearby.

My severe allergies make me sooo itchy. I licked at my back foot too much, and it got all infected. I need antibiotics and have to keep it bandaged. It's annoying, because it's really itchy under there! My Mom is getting me a special collar to make sure I don't pull the bandage off, but I hate those collars! Last night, I watched Mom make me lots of deliciously stuffed bones and lick mats and put them in the freezer. I hope I get those today!

I'd like you all to meet my newest friend from my neighborhood. His name is Maddrox, and he's a 7-month-old pitbull. We played HARD!
