Kim has been chasing the 1000lb club for a year and today he blew past it with a 400lb deadlift. This lift crushed his previous PR and settled him at 1050lbs.

Just over 5 months ago I had an old friend reach out to me about training. He was getting ready for his wedding and wanted to be in the best shape he could be.
We met a few days later and he ran me through his routine and daily nutrition. It sounded pretty solid. We met because he told me in 6 months working out he just hadn’t seen much results—so I delved deeper into his routine.
In my experience most people in gyms are just going through routines, going through the motions of workouts and calling it training—and I’ll be the first to say that’s ok. Ya know atleast they are there, and moving. Maybe even occasionally they kick their own ass and get a great workout in.
The young man who sat across from me was going to the the gym 5-6 days a week, and doing most of the right exercises— exercises I would recommend/prescribe. He was eating most of the foods I would recommend as well. However, mainly it was the intensity that was lacking. I tweaked his routine and added some exercises, bumped his calories with some nutrient dense foods and stayed in touch. Two weeks later we started training at the 2nd Sucks space and after the first workout he confirmed what we both knew two weeks prior—alone he was essentially “warming up” his entire workout. Simply he just wasn’t pushing himself.
We tweaked things every 2-3 weeks and he started shedding fat.
Sunday he leaves to marry his fiancée—20 pounds lighter, down 5% body fat, stronger and looking amazing! I’m really proud of him. He knew what he wanted, worked his ass off and did it the right way. I am grateful he trusted me to guide him on along this step in his life.
Congratulations.

Proud of this kid. I looked back on the left photo from August, and I was shocked at how much he has grown in 6 months as a young man.
6 months ago he had no experience lifting and just startedhia first year of football. Today he deadlifted 200. He immediately asked, what are we going for next.

7 months ago a client informed me her husband suffered a stroke. Working as a nurse practitioner she knew the road to recovery was was gonna be arduous. She asked me if I could help on top of his PT to get him back to functioning near normal, I didn’t hesitate. When he was released from the hospital I drove over to their house and kicked it with him for a bit before checking his mobility—it was minimal.
We went over what PT had him work on (if you have had pt then you may have experienced my frustration with the process. ) Too many people do not get the routines, and help they need. They are left with basic and far from functional work that leads people with very limited mobility and strength.
In one week he ceased PT and we got to work.
We started recreating the mind to muscle connection, walking, squatting, abduction/adduction work, all around body movements that would help him maneuver life in and outside of his house. We worked in his living room squatting from couch and chairs, doing steps, in his driveway doing deadlifts, atlas walks and farmer carry.
Quickly his regained his independence and started capturing his personal goals—one being bringing the laundry basket up and down the basement stairs, thus freeing his loving wife of this duty.
We moved to the gym when we was cleared to drive and continued the journey.
It has been incredible watching him. However, one thing escaped his grasp—something I believe we all can relate to. He never felt for more than a fleeting moment he was making a turn… his motivation and confidence was lacking. He left the gym feeling good but his
mental never let it last. He struggled, until this past week where the constant praise and accomplishments finally shook him free of those lackluster feelings.
Proud of being’s part of this journey.
Keep at it, give your self grace and never give up.

Simply love what I do, whenever I do it! From the gym, to garages, parks, Parcel 5 and houses—from training 7 year olds to 87 year olds I am so grateful.
No matter the experience level or the goal desired I love figuring out what I can do to challenge the people I work with.
There are days where I go from training 10 year old aspiring athletes, to a 30 year old in a wheelchair, on to a 50 year just looking to stay fit.
As busy as I am, it’s never enough. If you are struggling, need an exercise or routine check, a push to get started or just some exercise or nutrition advice hit me up and let’s get you rolling towards being your best version.

Shout out to a hardworker, both in the gym and in life. Seconds matter when Tt is on the job. The time she spends on her fitness ensures she is ready. On top of it all, she’s always had my back and I appreciate you.
