✨Motivation Monday✨
For this week, in honor of Labor Day, I want to remind everyone of the importance of rest!
Rest is when your body repairs and resets itself. The work you do in class challenges your muscles; during rest is when they grow back stronger. Furthermore, during sleep your brain works on any new skills you're learning, such as that mind-muscle connection! Rest also can be a magnificent time for celebration, connection, and joy. 😌
If you don't rest, not only do you risk injury and burnout, you may also find it's more difficult to put in the hard work. How do you begin doing something hard if you don't know when you'll be allowed to stop? 😳🥴 Yet when you know that there is an end point to the work, a point where you can recover and restore yourself, it becomes a lot easier to push yourself while the work is in front of you. 💪
So put away the notion that you must "earn" rest. Rest is a part of leveling up and getting better, it is a part of working hard and doing your best. Please try not to judge yourself for what you find difficult, or for where you are in your journey. And ALWAYS give yourself time for rest, you ALWAYS deserve it. ☺️😴

If you *already* have a very active lifestyle, it can be possible for some people to *stay* active during pregnancy!
Savanna is a member here who has completed almost 300 classes, in addition to running and other activities outside of RockBox! **With the blessing of her doctors,** listening to her body, and modifying as needed, she has been able to continue working out even up to her due date!
We are so proud of her!! 💖 Keep being your amazing self!

What makes RockBox different?
I love the dark lights, loud music. I always have genuine fun at class and never get bored. It’s really nice that someone tells me what to do, but the lights are low so I am not comparing to others. I focus on the music and myself.
What keeps you coming back?
I love that I found something that is so enjoyable for me to do. My mental and physical health has been transformed coming to Rockbox. I never regret a class and feel more alert in my day to day. I’ve lost weight and gained so much muscle which makes it so much more fun to push myself. I also have a reunion good time coming. It’s 50 minutes in my day devoted to myself and not focusing on others.

What is your why for staying healthy and consistent?
MYSELF. I have learned to love myself and workout for me by coming to Rockbox. I want to be my best, healthiest version of myself for myself. Seeing results helps you stay consistent, but also the enjoyment of coming to Rockbox. Now that I am more comfortable with working out and eating healthier it feels a little more comfortable to push harder in my workouts and eat healthier or up my water intake.

We think we speak for everyone who has met you at the studio that YOU are what embodies not only a RockBoxer but just a genuinely great person. You welcome everyone into the studio beginner and regulars, you encourage and motivate, you inspire and impress. Your dedication has been unwavering for over 3 years - even with a broken wrist. Your transformation is beyond impressive - look at those guns! You continue to push yourself every single workout, and strive to set new goals, while others may fall into just going through the motions. You’re the face of 5:15a, the face of RockBox Rochester and we couldn’t be more proud. Thank you, from all of us, staff and members, for all you bring to our RockBox Family. Keep on going, pace the way for the rest of us following.
