Marcus Whitman Cross Country and Track & Field Teams

Last night the Marcus Whitman XC Team travelled to the “Dash-in-the-Dark” at Oakfield-Alabama HS for the 1st time! It was definitely something different racing under the lights in a relay-format amongst 70+ schools, and great way to help kickoff our XC season! We even got to run over a few hay bales!

The Marcus Whitman XC Team opened up their season tonight at Midlakes for the WFL League Championship “Preview” meet!
Our Varsity Girls team got the season underway by finishing 5th place overall!! The team was led by Paulina’s 6th place finish. Adeline took 21st, and Sam (our 7th grader) was in 30th. Mia and Gretta completed our team scoring! Very excited to see what these ladies can do this season!
The Varsity Boys team took 1st place tonight! The team was led by the 1-2-3 finish of Desmond, Peyton, and Hunter! Lachlan took 8th place, Tony was 23rd, and Aksel finished 26th! Jamie and Scott (who PR’d by breaking 27:00!!!!) completed our team scoring!
The team heads to Oakfield-Alabama HS on Friday night for the “Dash-in-the-Dark” relay!
It’s going to be a great season! Let’s go Wildcats!!

Some members of our XC team raced the Crosswinds 5k yesterday in Canandaigua! Several runners earned medals, with our team finishing in 1st Place!! Paulina and Adeline finished 1st & 2nd overall in the Women’s race!! Desmond, Hunter, and Peyton went 2-3-4 in the Men’s race!
We open up our Regular Season on Tuesday with a league race at Midlakes!! Here we go!!!

Another one of our favorite runs along the north end of Seneca Lake! September in the Finger Lakes is pretty awesome! Closing in on our 1st race of the season next week! Let’s go!

What better way to celebrate the end of the 1st week of XC practice than by taking your team to Seabreeze to ride the oldest operating roller coaster in America!! Let’s Go!!!

One of our favorite runs of the year during XC season…along the shores of Canandaigua Lake in Vine Valley!! Missing a few kids today, but the views are spectacular!! We wrap up week #1 tomorrow!! Holding onto Summer as long as possible!!

Congratulations to Desmond on his 4th place finish today in Class C at the New York State Championships for the Boys 1600m run!! His blistering time of 4:15.54 breaks his own School Record by 6 seconds!!! WOW 🤩 What an incredible season!!!

🚨BOYS 4x800 TAKES 2nd @ STATES🚨

Our Boys 4x800m Relay team of Desmond, Lucas, Peyton, and Hunter took 2nd place today at the New York State Championships in Webster!! Their time of 7:57.69 was a 7 second PR and the first time we’ve ever ran below the 8:00 mark!!! INCREDIBLE!!🤩

Skyler took 6th place today in Class C at the New York State Championships in the Pentathlon! Her total of 2750 points was also a new personal best!! What an incredible season for this 9th grader!!!! AMAZING 🤩

Desmond was selected as the Section V Boys representative for the New York State Sportsmanship Award. He was recognized this morning during the Opening Ceremony of the NYS Championships! He will also race the 3200m later today! Let’s Go!!
