Hello all. My apologies for a delay in updating everyone. For obvious reasons, we are not able to come together as a community in person right now. There have been discussions about trying to bring Ecstatic Dance to the Rochester community in a virtual way, but unfortunately, it's just not come to fruition yet.

I wanted to be sure to say how much I have appreciated everyone's support, energy and companionship over the past few years that we have been healing together. More than ever, we and I need community and movement in our lives. More than ever I wish you these things.

This is not the end though. We will keep you updated as things develop! In the meantime, if you have any extra cash and want to see it go to a good cause, please consider donating to ROCovery Fitness so we can ensure we have a space to gather in the future. This space and community has become a big part of my healing medicine! Thank you all for being part of this and being vulnerable together.

I just loved seeing J. Lo and Shakira putting on such an amazing halftime show at this year's Superbowl (even if I only watched it on the internet afterwards)! There's a lot of controversy today about whether the show overly-sexualized women (too much skin, too many crotch shots, A POLE)?! As we know from our own experiences in ecstatic, there's nothing more empowering than expressing ourselves through dance and music! I think last night's show was a WIN for women, for dance as an art form and for proving that pole dancing isn't just for strip clubs anymore!

Come shed your inhibitions and self-judgement and join us for Ecstatic Dance in 2020!

UPDATE: Tonight's session of Rochester Ecstatic Dance at ROCvery Fitness has been cancelled. We will be returning to our regularly scheduled programming next month with some fun, intentional ways to celebrate the holiday together! Stay tuned and my apologies for those who were planning to attend this evening!

Our last session was made even more fun with colorful lights, bubbles and even scarves! Don't hesitate to bring along fun props or toys along with you to use and or share that are small enough to fit in our space!

A shout out to the best Ecstatic DJ in the ROC on his birthday! Thank you to Cody Sparks for always knowing which tunes to bring to the circle to help us get deep into our feeling bodies and out of our thinking minds! If you haven't heard him yet, be sure to come out next Wednesday for our monthly session of music and dance therapy.
