10 years is a long time.
Today, I am announcing that I will begin the behind the scenes work that will determine the future of the skatepark.
Nothing will be changing with daily function and I intend to be open through our 10 year anniversary party on Dec 17 as well as the rest of the winter.
There are several paths to be explored such as downsizing, moving, or passing the torch to the next person. As always, I will bring you all along for the journey because with action sports the journey is the destination.

When it comes to public skateparks context matters.
Being located in an area with an abundance of public parks takes a lot of pressure off the skateparks need to fulfill so many needs.

Mixed bag for the parents score on this one. The plus is that it’s in a park with nearby playground but there isn’t parking immediately at the skatepark.

Breaking Free will be closing early on Saturday May 16th and will remain closed through Memorial Day weekend. We will reopen again on Wednesday May 27th.

After a long winter and many weeks of work 60-80hrs a little break from grind is warranted. Enjoy the nice weather and the holiday weekend and we’ll see you soon.

Family score is a bit lower as there is no immediate parking but the skatepark is accessible via shared used paved path. There is at least 1 bench for specators.

This skatepark is one of the most accessible and sustainable skateparks I’ve been too. It offers a lot of progression and a variety of terrain. It’s probably not the best for super beginner and very young children but solid for beginner and up.
🚦
The traffic score is solid. The skatepark sections off well and should handle higher traffic decently. I’d expect to see this park handle 6 riders in motion at a time without risk of major conflict.
