Too many hitters don’t know how to create or use tension. This causes a lot of players to muscle up, thinking swinging harder will create more power.
Not only can this cause a “tight” and slow swing, it’s very inefficient and has a huge negative impact on barrel accuracy.
Using the Loop & Hammer Drill can allow players to move smoothly and loosely, feeling the natural flow of energy in the swing.
Prep your hips with some snap downs.
Mobile athletes like Mookie Betts need to eliminate slack and create tension.
The load's specific purpose is to prepare the body the swing. Timing and tension.
Why would you create tension just to lose that tension by pushing your hands to the ball? Keep tension and get depth. Listen to Mookie.
If you're not practicing your mindset in the cages, do you believe it will magically show up in games?
Sometimes you don't need a dramatic change in your swing mechanics to see measurable improvements.

The biggest thing we see HS athletes get wrong in their swing? Their POSTURE.
Good luck trying to outrun bad posture, here are some things you can do to clean it up.
One of the biggest flaws we see in hitters is their set-up. Almost every youth and HS hitter we see sinks deeply into knee flexion instead of properly hinging at the hips in their stance or set-up.
Knee flexion causes hitters to load the front of their quads. Loading the front of the quad leads to standing up, coming forward, and pulling with the front side.
Too much knee flexion without a hip hinge kills a hitters ability to rotate the pelvis, leading to pulling with the front side. Fix your posture, fix your swing.
