Please, respect and value your officials.
Why Youth Sports Refs Are Leaving At Record Rate - Global Sport Matters Young athletes lost months of play during pandemic shutdowns. Now, the drain of youth sports officials has the industry taking another hit.
Good luck to all of our Michigan High School boys headed to tryouts today.
If you're a little nervous, that's a good thing. It means you care. It's important to you. You have the passion.
Once you get started, it's all still baseball.
No matter what they ask you to do, you've done it a thousand times or more.
Let it come to you, don't press.
When you make a mistake (and you will make a mistake) watch your body language and just get ready for the next opportunity.
Don't try to be anything you're not.
Saying "Thank you coach" and "Yes Coach" a lot will go a long way.
Show hustle and initiative. Don't be last on the field or off the field.
No coach likes a "know it all" so don't be afraid to ask questions.
Have fun with it!
