The⚡JV squad is back at it after a few week break! MHC JV Playoff Semi-Final round continues as Lightning plays at DC Stars at 5pm at Rockville Ice Arena, Rink 3.

🏒🥅 Three UML players and a goalie recognized by the The Montgomery Hockey Conference (MHC)! 🏒🥅

Earlier, the Montgomery Hockey Conference (MHC) announced its all-conference teams. Upper Montgomery Lightning was represented by two forwards, a defenseman and a goalie. (Scroll through the carousel see more about each player's milestones this season):

⚡Defenseman Brady Berkhammer (Senior, Seneca Valley HS) was one of two TOP VOTE RECEIVERs in the division, and was named to Montgomery 2 First Team All-Division AND MHC All-Conference 2025-2026. This marks the 3rd year in a row with Brady being recognized by the MHC.

⚡Forward Miles Gleason (Freshman, Poolesville HS) was one of only two underclassmen named to Montgomery 2 First Team All-Division.

⚡Forward Captain Owen Robbins (Senior, Poolesville HS) was named to Montgomery 2 First Team All-Division.

⚡Goalie Alternate Captain Ilan Shterenberg (Junior, Clarksburg HS) received an Honorable Mention for Montgomery 2 All-Division. This marks the 2nd year in a row when Ilan is recognized by the MHC.

Congratulations on your achievements and recognition by the Conference! UML is very proud of you!

🏒🥅 UML⚡WINS ROUND 1 GAME OF PLAYOFFS!!! 🏒🥅

In a big upset win for the UML Varsity over Whitman last Friday night in the Round 1 game of the playoffs. The⚡now advances onto the QF round of Playoffs!

This narrow 3-2 win by the underdogs came as the result of a total team effort until the final buzzer and not quitting despite being heavily outshot (55-10) by the opponent.

It would be noteworthy to highlight one personal achievement, though: with his assist on the first goal, UML’s Senior Defender Brady Berkhammer (Seneca Valley) reached a personal milestone of the 50th career Varsity assist. Congratulations, Brady!

Last Friday Upper Montgomery ⚡faced off against Richard Montgomery 🚀 for the first time this season. The Rockets came into this contest strong, hoping to extend their 2-game winning streak after starting their season 2-1. The Lightning, on the other hand, was trying to bring home the W after losing 3 of its first 4 games of the season. The Lightning is currently plagued with injuries. Two of its most experienced forwards were absent from last Friday's lineup among several other Varsity veteran players, who
were out due to club travel. RM definitely took advantage of facing a lot of UML's younger squad, pushed hard, outshooting UML 57 to 15.

This coming Friday night UML will have a chance to improve its record during its rematch against the same RM team, as they face off once more at the Cabin John Ice Rink at 8:15 pm.

In the meantime, we wanted to mark a notable milestone:
Max Israfilbek, #12 (F) (Poolesville, '28) scored
his first career Varsity goal during last Friday's game! Congrats, Max!
