Woodley Gardens Pool

For over 60 years, Woodley Gardens Pool has been where your kids learned to swim, where you became friends with your neighbors, and where summer memories were made. Now, we have one final chance to bring it back—but only if we act fast, and do it together.
Why now? The Woodley Gardens Community Swim and Recreation Association has launched a multi-phase capital campaign to revitalize the Woodley Gardens Pool. This campaign aims to finance the construction of a new poolhouse and reopen the pool. We must act quickly, or we risk losing our neighborhood pool.
Built in 1961, Woodley Gardens has been a Rockville institution for generations. Our swim team started in 1963. We survived a fire in 2019 and reopened in 2020, when having any place outside our homes was a lifeline.
The 2026 pool reopening is just the beginning. Our poolhouse renovation is the first milestone in a complete pool renovation planned for Fall 2028. See the full renovation schedule on our website.
All Hands on Deck
Our volunteer board and community members are dedicated to raising over $250k by the end of the year. This amount will help us get closer to our goal, but we will ultimately need much more to bring the waves home in 2026. We're reaching out to local businesses, pursuing grants, and counting on neighbors like you.
Here's how you can help:
1 Make a donation - see link in bio
2 Volunteer your time or skills— we are seeking fundraising, outreach, events, or other talents. Sign up to help. Please email [email protected] if you want to help.
3 Spread the word! Chat with your neighbors, share on social media, and connect us with local businesses. The fundraising website has info, flyers, and social media assets you can share with your friends, family, and anyone else who’d like to help get the word out!
This is going to take all of us. But if there's one thing our community has proven, it's that when we come together, we can do remarkable things.
Let's dig deep this winter so our community can dive in next summer.
Together, We Bring Woodley Back!

Woodley Gardens Pool Update
Dear Members,
We wanted to share some important news regarding the Pool. As of a few weeks ago, Pete Cromwell of Georgetown Hill Early School is now the 100% sole owner of the pool property. The Woodley Gardens Community Swim & Recreation Association (WGCSRA) Board has met with Pete. We are working together on a plan for the WGCSRA to lease and manage the pool property again for the 2024 summer.
Pete wanted to share the following with the pool community: "Georgetown Hill is excited for another successful pool season in Summer 2024 and to partner with the team that has been working so hard for the community these past few years. We expect to work with them closely as we develop our overall plan to improve the property and preserve this community asset for years to come. And on a personal level, I'm thrilled to return to the neighborhood I grew up in!"
We look forward to another amazing summer of fun at Woodley Gardens Pool! More information will be shared at a later date.
Sincerely,
Your friends at Woodley Gardens Community Swim & Recreation Association
