Speed is not just about moving your feet faster.
One thing that holds athletes back is thinking speed only comes from ladder drills, quick feet, or doing more sprints.
Real speed starts with how much force you can put into the ground.
That is why strength training matters.
When an athlete gets stronger, they can:
✅ Accelerate faster
✅ Create a more powerful first step
✅ Jump higher
✅ Change direction with more control
✅ Hold their speed longer in a game
At PFP, we train athletes to build strength in the weight room and transfer it to speed, power, and performance on the field or court.
The ground decides how fast you go.
If your athlete wants to get faster, stronger, and more explosive, DM us “SPEED” to learn more about our sports performance training in Rockville, MD.

Aiden fractured his ankle. He's in a cast. And he's still showing up to train.
A lot of people would take this as a reason to disappear for a couple months and hit reset when the cast comes off. Aiden decided he wasn't going to lose all that progress. So we work everything we safely can. Upper body, core, and the whole side of his body that isn't healing.
Just as important, he's building something you can't coach into someone. The habit of showing up even when it would be easier not to.
That mindset is going to take Aiden a lot further than any single season.
Proud of you, Aiden. Keep showing up!

Coach Aubrey mic’d up during one of our semi-private senior training sessions!
Today’s focus: banded hip thrusts.
There's a reason we love this one for our older clients. Strong glutes are the foundation for so much of what makes daily life easier as you age. Getting up from a chair. Climbing stairs. Staying steady on your feet. It all starts at the hips.
For older adults, strength training is not just about working out.
It is about building stronger hips, better balance, more confidence, and the ability to keep doing the things they love.
At Prepare for Performance in Rockville, our semi-private training gives seniors personal attention, coaching, and exercises adjusted to their ability level.
Strength has no age limit.
Started over too many times? Stronger Start is 28 days of small-group personal training for adults 40+ who need a realistic plan they can follow.

Your biggest insurance policy might be strength training.
Not because it prevents every injury or fixes every problem.
Because strength gives you options.
It helps you get off the floor.
Carry groceries.
Climb stairs.
Recover better.
Move with more confidence.
Stay independent as you age.
Most adults wait until something happens before they start taking strength seriously.
Do not wait until you need strength to start building it.
Train for your future.

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at PFP! 🎆🇺🇸
Today we celebrate Independence Day — freedom, the people who fought for it, and the simple gift of spending a day with the ones we love.
And here's a thought that sticks with us: independence means something personal too.
The freedom to move without pain. The strength to keep up with the people you love. The energy to live fully at any age. That's the kind of freedom we help you build every single day.
So celebrate it all today — the fireworks, the cookouts, the time with your people, and the well-earned rest. You've earned every bit of it!
Thank you for being part of this community. We're grateful for you today and every day!
Stay safe and happy Independence Day, MoCo! 🎇🇺🇸

Game speed happens in angles.
Sports are not played in perfect straight lines.
Athletes have to cut, drive laterally, react, stop, re-accelerate, and change direction under control.
That is why we train more than just running fast.
• 45-degree cuts
• Lateral drives
• Reactive direction changes
• Body control through multiple angles
• Better acceleration out of each cut
Because games are played in angles.
You already invest in your athlete. Camps, travel teams, private lessons. But if nobody is training the physical foundation underneath it all, you are leaving real development on the table. We work with athletes ages 10 to 18 on the speed, strength, and body control that makes everything else they do more effective.
DM "SPEED" and I will send you the details.

Triple digits! Let's give it up for Shaima hitting 100 sessions at PFP! 👏
This is what dedication looks like. Not a quick burst of motivation, but the steady, repeated decision to keep going. And every single one of those 100 visits has added up to a stronger, more capable version of herself.
Shaima, we are so grateful to have you as part of this community. Here's to the next 100! 🙌

At 54 years old, Neshiem had never stepped foot into a gym before joining Prepare for Performance.
Now, almost 1.5 years later, she is stronger, more confident, and proof that it is never too late to start.
One of the things she loves most about PFP is the personal attention. We coach, adjust exercises around injuries or pain, and make sure each person trains in a way that fits their body and their goals.
That is what adult small group personal training should feel like.
If you are in Rockville or Montgomery County and have been nervous about starting strength training, Neshiem’s story is your reminder:
You do not need gym experience to begin.
You just need the right place to start.
DM “STRONG” to learn more about our adult small group training.
The most common thing we hear from older adults?
“I wish I had started sooner.”
Sarcopenia is age-related muscle loss, and most adults do not think about it until they start noticing changes.
Getting up from the floor feels harder.
Stairs feel harder.
Balance feels different.
Everyday tasks take more effort.
That is why strength training matters.
At PFP, we help adults build strength, improve confidence, and train in a way that fits their body, goals, and ability level.
You do not need to be in shape to start.
You start so you can become stronger.
Do not let “I wish I started sooner” become your story.
