How to build strength and speed the right way, without adding injury risk
The mental toughness training that turns game-day nerves into game-day focus

Big testing week for our athletes at PFP!

This week we tested speed and CMJ to track progress and see how training is carrying over.

And some of our athletes saw huge improvements 🔥

Faster sprint times.
Higher jumps.
More power.
Better proof that the work is working.

Testing matters because athletes need more than just hard workouts.
They need training with a purpose and numbers that show progress.

Proud of our athletes for showing up, competing, and continuing to get better!

Double celebration today. Michelle AND Sarah both just hit 50 visits! 🎉

Two different journeys, two different starting points, and both landing on the same milestone. That's what consistency does. It doesn't matter how you got here, what matters is that you kept showing up, and both of these ladies have done exactly that.

Here's to the next 50, together. 🙌

Fall season is in full swing, and here's what most families miss: this is the most important time to keep training, not stop.

Every year it's the same pattern. Games take over the schedule, strength work falls off, and the athlete goes from training hard all summer to just playing. But playing a lot makes an athlete tired. It doesn't make them stronger, faster, or more durable. That only comes from training.

Skip it in-season and it shows up when it matters most: a step slower by midseason, more nagging injuries, running on empty by playoffs while the athletes who kept training pull ahead.

It doesn't take much. One or two sessions a week holds everything they built over the summer and keeps them climbing.

Comment ATHLETE and we'll get your athlete set for the season.

We asked 3 PFP athletes why they like training here.

Zachary said it helps him build speed and strength.
Lucas said the trainers are nice, and he likes getting a good workout in during the week.
Viviane said training here makes her feel good about herself during the summer.

That is what we want for every athlete who walks through our doors.

Get faster.
Get stronger.
Feel supported.
Build confidence.

Sports performance training is not just about drills and workouts.

It is about helping athletes feel better, move better, and show up to their sport more prepared.

Proud of Zachary, Lucas, and Viviane for putting in the work.

Strong is not enough.

A lot of athletes build strength, but never learn how to use it fast.

That is why we train strength, power, and speed together.

We build single-leg strength with split squats, express it explosively with banded split squat jumps, and connect it back to sport with sprinting

Strength first.
Power second.
Speed third.

Acceleration is not just about moving your legs fast.

It is about putting force into the ground quickly.

Strength is the foundation. Power is the expression.

Train explosively. Run faster.

How did we earn our 5-star Google rating?

By focusing on the things that actually matter.

Quality training.
Real coaching.
A welcoming environment.
Programs that meet people where they are.
Results that carry over outside the gym.

The rating is great.
But the real win is hearing members, parents, and athletes say they feel the difference.

Want more explosive acceleration?

Start doing single-leg bounds.

Sprinting happens one leg at a time, and the first few steps are all about force, power, and control.

Single-leg bounds help athletes build:

More push off the ground
Better coordination
Stronger single-leg power
More explosive acceleration

This is not just jumping.

It is teaching the body how to produce force and cover ground.

60 seconds to better performance.

We asked 4 PFP athletes why they like training here.

Their answers were all pretty similar.

They want to get faster.
They want to get stronger.
They want it to carry over to their sport.

That is what sports performance training is supposed to do.

At PFP in Rockville, we help athletes build speed, strength, power, agility, and confidence so they can move better and compete harder.

Proud of these athletes for showing up, working hard, and continuing to get better!
