Ragweed season is here — and it's not just sneezing.
If you notice hives, flushing, bloating, or brain fog getting worse in August/September, your gut may be part of the story. Pollen adds to your body's total histamine load — and if your gut is already stretched thin clearing histamine, that's when symptoms spike. Supporting the gut lining itself is often the missing piece, not just managing pollen exposure.
Two things worth knowing this time of year:
🔹 Ragweed can cross-react with foods like banana, melon, zucchini, and chamomile — itchy mouth after eating these in season is a real thing (oral allergy syndrome)
🔹 Mold spores (Alternaria, Cladosporium) peak right alongside ragweed — a second hidden trigger most people miss
Best way to know what's driving it: a specific-IgE test for ragweed + mold, ideally a component-resolved panel that can separate true allergy from cross-reactivity in one draw.
Not everything in "allergy season" is allergies. Sometimes it's your gut asking for support too.
