Just now able to get my thoughts together from this past weekend at the ITF union European championships. There was strong competition and the energy in the venue was incredible. I am so proud of how team USA performed! We showed up and all our hard work paid off. We won and lost as a team. This I can easily say was my favorite team to coach! All 39 competitors were ready! They listened to their coaches, trusted their training and the performances speak for them selves. We had competitors win at every level! We had the junior boys team crush the team sparring winning the first team gold in the ITF union history for the USA. We had Tyler Roybal win junior male competitor of the tournament. Another accomplishment that hasn’t been done before. The men and woman’s teams performed great. The men had a tough call against Spain. In these competitions not everything is gonna go your way. I do truly believe though that we will break through soon and all the adversity will have been worth the fight. We will be in that gold medal match and we will prevail! I have faith in that! The women’s team was so much fun to watch compete! You ladies crushed it! Can’t wait to see silver medals turn to gold soon. All individuals who went to compete and trust Master Vu, Master Broadway and I we truly couldn’t have had a better honor than that. To get In the trenches with you and watch you all succeed was a highlight for all of us. This tournament had some top level talent that was fun to watch and we got our fair share of hardware to bring home! Remember success and failure are tied together. You generally don’t get success without some failure along the way. So when you don’t get the results you want dig deep find things to improve upon and come back stronger. The results will one day be there. Just keep grinding and never give up!
