Did you know that many employers participate in corporate giving to their employees’ favorite non-profits? Here are three ways your work might be able to support TxTRC:

1. Donation matching: some companies will match your donation to a 501(c)(3), meaning your donation goes twice as far!

2. Paid volunteer hours: some companies will actually pay a non-profit for the hours you volunteer. You volunteer at TxTRC, report your hours to your employer, and they pay TXTRC an hourly “rate” in honor of your service.

3. Hours off for volunteering: many companies offer a “bank” of PTO to be used for volunteerism outside of your normal PTO.

Don’t forget to ask the company you work for if they have any corporate giving opportunities. TxTRC exists because of sponsors and donations, and we are so grateful to the corporations who have supported us!

Take a look at those lovely chompers! Every year, our horses receive dental care from a veterinarian skilled in caring for equine teeth. This costs at least a couple hundred dollars per horse, and because our horses are older, it is a very important part of their annual maintenance. Consider donating to TxTRC to help with annual veterinary costs, like dental work, that our horses need to stay in their best shape. Our horses love to lounge around in their beautiful pastures (and many of them enjoy a good roll in the arena, too). We maintain the pastures and arena with help from our trusty workhorse of a vehicle, known around the barn as The Mule. The Mule pulls the drag around the arena, pulls the spreader to distribute all the manure, and hauls hay to all the pastures twice a day. We could not survive without it! One of our ongoing expenses is maintenance for The Mule. A North Texas Giving Day donation can help offset some of the regular costs we have to maintain our favorite work buddy! Arrrgghhh! ☠ It's our favorite lady pirate, Dream, dressed up to take on those pesky flies. Most of our horses wear fly boots and fly masks to protect them from the bugs that insist on biting and harassing them. Some of our horses, including Dream, are particularly sensitive to bugs. Each horse's flygear costs about $100 (and usually has to be replaced at least once each fly season). Once fly season ends, blanket season is here. Warm winter blankets for our eldery horses often costs $200 or more. Consider giving to TxTRC for North Texas Giving Day - your donation will go directly to the care of our horses, and that includes purchasing new equipment and supplies when necessary to keep the horses healthy and happy!
