Growing up in Nash County, she was encouraged to try many different activities until she found the ones she loved most. She started dancing with Bobbi Collins at just 3 years old and quickly fell in love with it. During middle school, she took some time away from dance to dedicate more time to cheerleading and horse shows, but she always knew she would return to dancing when the time was right.

She returned to the dance studio in high school and danced with Kat McCord Dance until graduating. She went on to attend ECU, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. She has now begun her 18th year of teaching, which is so much more than a career to her—it is something she truly loves.

She has been married to her husband, Stephen, for 13 years, and together they have two children, Elliott, 11, and Sawyer, 7. They are the reason behind so much of what she does and definitely keep life fun and busy!

Elliott began her own dance journey at ATB when she was just 3 years old. She joined the competition team at 6, and dance suddenly became so much more than a hobby. Watching her daughter dance has been such a joy, but also incredibly inspirational, because it reminded her just how special the world of dance can be.

Last year, she had the opportunity to teach the Tots class—the sweet 2- and 3-year-olds—and she was hooked! There is something so special about watching children learn, try something new, gain confidence, and celebrate their accomplishments. It truly feels like the perfect combination of two things she loves most: teaching and dance.

Being a part of the ATB family as both a parent and a teacher is the BEST!

✨ Meet Greyson Rizo ✨

Born in Nash County and raised in Edenton, NC, Greyson eventually made her way back to Nash County in 2008, where she has called home ever since.

Greyson is a proud mom of three—Abel, 20, Ava, 13, and Adalyn, 6—and has been married to her husband, Roy, for almost 16 years this October. ❤️

Outside of the studio, Greyson works as a Chronic and Quality Care Manager and Coordinator. When she’s not working or at the studio, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and making memories with the people she loves most.

Greyson’s love for dance began when she was just 4 years old, when she took dance with Bobby Collins. After moving, she found her way into the world of cheerleading and quickly fell in love with it. She spent five years cheering game day and sideline cheer, followed by three years of competitive cheer. She also spent one summer at an elite cheer gym, learning new choreography, perfecting her tumbling skills, and preparing to compete at ECA Cheer Finals and Nationals.

Although life took Greyson in different directions over the years, her love for performing never truly left. Now, getting to experience dance again through her daughter and being part of the studio community has brought that passion full circle. 💕✨
