Some of you have asked why we moved the event venue. Short version: our Bella Vista permit fell through. We didn't want to change your race weekend, so we found a new one instead, and it happens to be one of Arkansas' most iconic state parks. Learn more at the link below.

Full Moon 25k/50k 07/17/2026

Our friends at Full Moon 50K could use a couple more volunteers for Saturday. Lots of sweat, Vasoline, awkward hugs and shorty shorts. Go get weird in the woods, give back and help some good folks.

Full Moon 25k/50k The Full Moon 25k/50k is on Saturday July 18, 2026 to Sunday July 19, 2026. It includes the following events: Full Moon 50K and Full Moon 25k.

Before the day ends, I want to give a shout out to our volunteer sweeper. Yatika Starr Fields came over from OK to spend the day out on the trails with y’all. He pulled a lot of course markers, picked up dropped wrappers and kept an eye out for wayward runners.
Yatika is a gritty runner himself and will toe the line at the Hardrock 100 next month. He’s also a world renowned artist. Thank you, Yatika and may you run in beauty through the San Juans.

Always good to see you out there.
Always.

This is from the best trail race in the south, Saturday’s War Eagle 25k. Admittedly, I went into this race undertrained. Life has been lifing so hard the past couple of months, and because of this lifing, I also went in with a heavy heart.

It didn’t help that this was the first time I’ve run this race since passed away. He has a spot on the course and passing that spot started stirring up some emotion. Other people we’ve lost the past couple of years began entering my mind as well. I was able to keep my emotions in check until I entered the Piney aid station where my friends were working. I walked by everyone and sat down, and that’s when the flood gates opened up.

I’ve said it before, but if you’ve never gotten emotional on a run, you’re doing it wrong. I didn’t expect this run to be cathartic, but I’m glad it was.

Thank you to for jingling my bells and for for the Coke!

Thank you to the NoWAB crew, especially and , for being my ears at the aid station!

Thank you to Angie Smallwood for pushing me through a small stretch and giving me the motivation I needed to finish strong!

And a big thank you to , , and for another amazing race!
