At Tiny Fins, we focus on building confidence, independence, and water safety skills! 💙💦

When she swims to the chair she’s not just learning a skill — she’s learning how to independently get herself to a “safe spot”.

Every skill we teach is designed to help children become safer, more confident swimmers — one lesson at a time.

🛟 Society has taught us to build confidence without competence with our children in the water!

Having children jump into the pool while we catch them every time, or allowing them to rely on floaties, can create a false sense of security in the water.❌

The reality is that many water accidents happen during non-swim times, when children unexpectedly gain access to water.💔

Children need opportunities to learn real water safety skills—how to enter the water, find their float, and work toward getting themselves to safety.

Instead of always catching them, get in the water with them. Practice skills, build confidence through ability, and help them develop respect for the water.

At Tiny Fins, we focus on creating confident swimmers through competence, not just confidence. 💙🌊🛟

As parents, we understand the anxiety that comes with having a child around water. Since the day Tiny Fins opened, we’ve been committed to teaching children as young as 6 months old the lifesaving skills they need to help save themselves in an aquatic emergency.

Every lesson is about more than learning to swim—it’s about building confidence, creating muscle memory, and giving families greater peace of mind. 💙💦

Many parents think about swim lessons when they’re planning a pool day. 💙💦

We think about swim lessons as preparation for life.

Water is everywhere—backyard pools, lakes, vacations, splash pads, and neighborhood gatherings. That’s why water safety shouldn’t be seasonal.

Consistent, year-round lessons help children retain their skills, build confidence, and strengthen the muscle memory needed to respond in an emergency.

At Tiny Fins, our goal isn’t just to teach children how to swim—it’s to equip them with lifesaving survival skills that can help keep them safer wherever they encounter water.

Stay consistent. Keep building confidence. Keep growing stronger. Because water safety is a lifelong journey. 💙

Sooo good!🥰

Most parents think of swimming as a way to keep kids active. But researchers and therapists have been paying close attention to something deeper: the way water changes how children regulate their emotions and behavior.

Swimming and aquatic therapy have been shown to improve emotional regulation, attention, behavior, and psychosocial functioning in children — including those with ADHD and autism spectrum disorder. These benefits go well beyond what you would expect from burning energy alone.

Swimming engages multiple sensory systems, providing proprioceptive, vestibular, and tactile feedback. The hydrostatic pressure of water can provide deep pressure stimulation — a similar sensation to a hug — which has been shown to calm the nervous system and improve focus.
Deep pressure increases parasympathetic activity (rest-and-digest) and reduces sympathetic activity (fight-or-flight), lowering stress and anxiety. It can also increase serotonin and dopamine, supporting mood stability and a grounded feeling.

Regular swimming training has been shown to stimulate the development of children's nervous, muscular, and motor systems more effectively than many other forms of physical activity. The rhythmic, repetitive nature of swimming strokes adds an additional layer of calm — one that tends to carry over well beyond the pool.

It is no surprise, then, that occupational therapists and pediatric physiotherapists regularly incorporate aquatic activity into therapeutic programs for children who struggle with sensory regulation and behavioral challenges.
