I have manually sharped skates for 30 years. Fleming Gray, Blademaster, and Blackstone. I have done 40,000 plus pairs.
First I will admit sharpening is hard. Bent blades, variable steel widths, weight of the boot, steels without boots, and holders that do not fit in sharpening jigs.


None of this is considered by an automated sharpening. At the very least I can notice the unforeseen and make adjustments.

Manual sharpeners will make mistakes, but they can pivot and correct.

Find a professional and have your skates evaluated. It will make a difference.

I will be unavailable for sharpening Wednesday the 14th, through Saturday the 17th.

“Pretty Good Sharpening”. That about sums it up. I don’t claim to be a professional, merely proficient. Estimated, I have done be 30,000 sharpenings over the past 26 years. If you need me I will do my best to help. North Rink, number posted, call or text anytime.

Due to overwhelming response, my plan is to start skate sharpening at 3:30, 1/22 at the North Rink location, until finished. Thank you so much for all the calls, texts, and messages. After 25+ years of skate sharpening and repair, fun to see things rolling again.
