Our March Member of the Month is Ray!
I’ll tell you a little secret. Rose nominated Ray since she has seen how hard he is working in the gym and at home. Ray has been focused on gaining muscle and it is really showing. He has also been practicing the olympic lifts and double unders at home. Rose sent us the photo proof!
Here is a little more about Ray:
“My wife, Rose, started CrossFit training a year prior to me. Seeing her dedication and progress within that year made me want to give it a try. My mindset was “if she can do it, then so can I.” I was immediately humbled.
My main motivation became rising to the challenge. The challenge of getting stronger. The challenge of being able to hit complex movements. The challenge to endure to the very end. And to show my sons that your true competition is the you of yesterday.
My favorite movement, without a doubt, is the bar muscle-up. My least favorite: burpees.
My favorite protein is fish; specifically salmon.
Outside the gym, I homeschool my sons, make music, and do a bit of coding. The boys are fixated on video games at the moment, so we’re focusing on game development.
I know I’m rather quiet and a bit reserved, but I want the members to know that watching and training alongside them gives me the push to be better. I might not have said it aloud, but rest assured that you all also motivate me.”
Ray, thank you for being an awesome person!

🏆 Member of the Month: Godfrey Packiaraj!
Godfrey is a half marathon/marathon/Spartan racer who was recovering from some labrum and ankle issues. He always enjoyed working out, but injuries were holding him back. After seeing his son at Station, he decided to join...even though he wasn’t sure it was a good idea!
You can catch Godfrey working out with his son in the evening working, usually laughing about something. He is really focusing on shoulder strength since that has been an issue in the past.
He does his best to work hard in the gym and then make sure to eat things in moderation the best he can.
Outside of the gym, you can find Godfrey playing in a volleyball league and of course, spending time with his awesome son.
Godfrey, thank you for being an awesome person!

Our January Member of the Month is Joel!
When Joel first joined Station Athletics, his biggest concern was whether or not he would be consistent. Fast forward, this guy is one of our most consistent members. I always see his name on the board.

“The coaches. All are very focused on helping each person succeed at whatever stage they are. The workouts. I love the variety. I am doing things I have never done before. With varying degrees of success . . . but always progressing! The other members. Everyone is friendly and supportive of each other.”
𝙁𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩?
“I like the sled . . . another “never done before” . . . makes me think I could’ve been a decent tight end! On the other hand, can’t say you will ever see me do a handstand walk . . . but you never know.”
If you want to hang with Joel outside the gym, he prefers to do it over a good ribeye while watching the Eagles (don’t hold that against him). But you better have enough food for his 3 kids!
