Hey all, the time is here (no not HS Baseball season) but HS baseball diamond renovation time. For those that have not heard, the Rosendale Brandon Legion Baseball program has fundraised $168,220 to have the Laconia High School baseball diamond renovated. Midwest Athletic Fields is the contractor doing the project with Nitz Concrete Construction doing the concrete work.
Just quick history on Rosendale Brandon Legion Baseball for those that may have younger baseball players or that just don’t know what exactly it is. The team is ran under Legion Post 378. In a way it’s like Little League for high school players. It is a summer competitive league to play once the high school season is over. Without it high school players would ultimately be done with baseball after the short high school season unless they are in a travel program. It was started here in 2018 by Shane Bauer and Scott Seggerman with help from Sean, Wayne, and Rob. Jeff Redman then took it over and kept it going and has now handed to Craig Shaver with help from Heath, Greg, and Mark. If I forgot anyone I truly apologize. All us baseball coaches believe it is very important to keep this program going to help build Laconia Baseball as a whole. It is not easy with the explosion of travel baseball not only in our area but as a nation and our school size but it can be done and hopefully will continue for many years to come. Huge thank you to all those involved in getting it started here in Rosendale Brandon.
Now back to the renovation. The renovation started today and the majority of it should be done in about 3-4 weeks. We ask that everyone stays off the field for the rest of this year as the dirt and sod will need the rest of the year to settle etc. If you happen to see any of the companies or people listed below please feel free to give them a thank you. This wouldn’t have been remotely possible without these great donors! First and foremost the NEBAT Foundation (National Exchange Bank and Trust). It was a shot in the dark and with very few questions they came through funding half the project. But with that if we wouldn’t have been able to come up with the other half from these other great donors it wouldn’t have happened.
